This will be like in 2004, in a few minutes.

Lance/Pogi wants Landis/Majka to win.

Landis/Majka is too slow.

Lance/Pogi sprints himself and beats Novak/Klöden.

Pog couldn't help himself, could he? 2 months without a race had the effects. It was Bahrain who really exploded the race though and wattage deficiency of lower-division teams was evident after just 2 km of steep climbing. Pog&Majka didn't drop Novak (it's weird they didn't try on the last climb) but played it well at the end (the way 2-1 advantage should be played). Tadej did a lot of pacing to help Majka. Congrats to Rafał! Well done. He even has a chance to win the race unless Pog decides to test his 30-minute power at some point.

Novak seemed to me the strongest in the last kms (even though he was also on the wheels for most of the time) and covered with relative ease the attack by Pog at 2 Km from the finish, maybe I am wrong but I think that Pogacar must keep an eye on him.

That was a lot harder than the stage profile suggested. Everyone got Pogged on the first stage already, crazy. Really good to see a faithful helper like Majka winning something for himself, he's in great form.

Congratulations to Rafał Majka for taking the stage win.

A bit unexpected in regards to attacking this early in the race. And likely deciding the race already. Novak putting in a good fight. Too bad we didn't get to see a sprint of all three. Likely Moho will try to take a prestigious win and i am looking forward to that. Beyond that i don't see anybody that could keep up with UAE and Pogi on this race. In regards to GC.

Tomorrow a stage for the sprinters or a breakaway? Groenewegen, Ackermann and Merlier all took it easy today.
