Ackermann didn't really give much competition to Groenewegen in the end. I guess all that climbing in the Duphine did help Groenewegen.

Would like to have seen Merlier in the final - In De Panne, Merlier beat Groenewegen by less than a tyre.

Congratulations to Dylan Groenewegen for winning a bunch sprint.

Nice to see he is getting back in shape and winning again. Hopefully some day to again see Dylan and Fabio fighting shoulder to shoulder for the stage win.

If I'm Pogacar I'm hoping for covid from a logical standpoint. If you are getting it now the chances of getting a positive in the Tour are much much lower. That's of course with a mild covid sickness that I think almost all people now get with the new variant. Vlasov tested positive and was extremely strong yesterday, so I don't think you have to even stop training at home. Depending on the country you are in you can even get out of isolation after a few days.

It would be sad for the Tour of Slovenia fans but that is where we are with this situation. On the other hand the Tour has to develop a concept that is more like the 2020 version of the Tour if they want to have the best riders in the race until the end.

Imagine Pogacar tests positive for Covid at the TdF…

Pogi wants to win eight TdFs in a row, to be better than Lance Armstrong, who won them seven times in a row, which is record.

If Covid hits Pogacar in France, this project could be endangered… :(
