There would have been another climb on the other side of the lake (3.2kms at 6.2%, but irregular) that they could have used to reduce the false flat here.

Massive regrouping for the leaders bunch. Big surprise given how fractured it was so far from the top of the climb

Good attack from Kamna, if they keep working you'd think this might stick as Amador seems very strong

Really good second attack from Kamna and a nice stage win for him.

Amador the strongest of the group but got leant on too much.

Good to see any of these guys still can produce a win. It's good when all those young German and Austrian climbers hit the scene almost at the same time, but then most of them had problems at around the same time, too.

They only climb the first half though. That being said, the first ramp really should have been categorised.

Last year was far worse for this, they actually didn't categorise the hardest climb of the race, Passo Castrin from the hard side, easily HC territory:

Nothing beats these guys going to Lago di Tenno where I've struggled on holiday and the pro's proceeding to just crash uphill
