*facepalm* I just posted a thread on salaries in pro cycling... And I hadn't seen this post... Just the ones of theyoungest and airstream about Paul Martens's salary...

Wasn´t there a song, like "I can read your mind" or something like that? :D Correct me if I´m wrong. :p

RSNT is probably the first by payroll, but the riders are paid according to their achievements at least. A 500k Martens sounds like a slight surcharge. :) I may be wrong )

BMC, Astana, Katusha > RaNT.

From the Cyclingnews article on the front page:

Mollema is the team's other big GC hope. Although he has had a underwhelming 2012 so far
I don't know what Cyclingnews' expectations for this guy were, but my guess is they just have a short memory... he finished 3d in Pais Vasco, and top-10 in all three Ardennes classics (his first real try at doing well in those races).

I was just about to say the same. If Mollema had a British/Australian/American passport they probably would have remembered

Current UCI WT ranking:

19 18 MOLLEMA Bauke NED19861126 RABOBANK CYCLING TEAM (RAB) 132
20 19 MARTIN Daniel IRL19860820 GARMIN - BARRACUDA (GRM) 132

They probably think Dan Martin is underwhelming as well ;)

No Fuglsang? You got to be kidding me. He is twice the rider that Horner is at the moment. Perhaps Jakob should have had his tongue deep up in JB's good old chap, Mr Lance, as well... Seems to have worked for Chris..

Hardly surprising. Fuglsang was a waste of a pick at last year's Tour and now he disappears at the pointy end of Tour de Suisse which may have cost Frank Schleck the race

Here we go!!!
Raboboys:
Gesink, Ten Dam, Kruijswijk, Mollema, Renshaw, LL Sanchez, Tankink, Tjallingii and Wynants.

According to this source, Rabobank selected both Gesink and Mollema as their leaders and are giving Kruiswijk a more or less free role to try and do well in the GC. They refer to Tjallingii, Ten Dam, Wynants, and Tankink as helpers, while Sanchez and Renshaw are mentioned for stage victories.

I hope Kruijswijk will actually ride in support of Gesink or Mollema and the worst out of G. or M. will actually turn into a support rider as well. The current roles reek of another Rabo tactics fail.

I think that's the plan, yes. Although what's the point, I don't think Kruijswijk really needs to sacrifice himself for the 12th spot on GC of Gesink or Mollema.

And it's the Tour, it never goes the way it's planned, maybe one or two of them will crash out or lose 10 minutes, and this tactical "fail" of yours can't occur anymore.

Gesink rode 3 TDF's and crashed in 2, so realistically there is a 66,66667% chances that Gesink will crash (out) in the first week. Indeed leaving the captain role for Mollema/Kruijswijk

He crashed in all three of them... in 2010 he had "just" a hairline fracture in his elbow though.

Is this their "we can't climb and we're proud of it" selection?

Who would've ever thought a limited rider such as Roy Curvers or Yann Huguet would ever get the chance to ride the TDF?

Gretsch could place ok in some of the TTs.

de Koert and Sprick for the breakaways. Maybe Frohlinger for mountain breakaways

They'll be in the break everyday (getting sonsors some exposure:rolleyes:)

I'm afraid they will chase the break every day getting sponsors some exposure.
Seems to me they will be all for Kittel.

Scarponi will be the leader of Lampre... Honestly I don't know what he can do with so many TT km, but he can be one that can try something on the mountains with Frank and maybe Evans...

What, Cunego isn't riding? ;)

And I think Argos invitation was an invitation to Kittel to add competition in the sprints.

Is this their "we can't climb and we're proud of it" selection?

And to think, some people were worried about Sky having to chase breakaways.

There's no way he could be competitive for the GC afte the giro and with all those tt kilometers.
I Hope he tries to go for the Pois Rouge jersey and stage wins, rather then for a top 15 in GC

If someone wants to put together a Tour Teams Roster thread, listing the teams and their line-ups, I would be glad to sticky it.

Susan

Is someone already doing this? If not, I am doing it now.
