With Porte going to Sky does that mean they could have a GC contender for the Giro leaving Wiggins for the Tour?

I can't imagine they see Porte as leader for the Giro next year. He hasn't exactly shown that form this year.

I think at best he could be co-leader with someone else. I would for example rate Löfkvist as a better climber than Porte though Porte is a better ITTer for sure. Even when he got 7th in the Giro he was holding on for dear life in every climb and has not shown anything remotely close to that ever since.

Is Larsson still linked to SKY ?

Be a nice team for the Giro Löfkvist, Porte and Larsson and maybe Henao plus 5

I haven't heard anything. Last I saw he was linked with GreenEdge as well. I guess GE, Sky and Leopard are the most likely teams he'll go to unless he pulls off a surprise and goes somewhere completely unexpected.

Ok thanks the most unexpected thing would be to stay @ Saxo - not going to happen but never say never I guess

Porte is not good enough to compete for Giro GC. Also, I don't think Sky is super interested in winning Giro GC.

Why in the world is Bjarne not buying any cyclists!!!! :(

Maybe he is waiting how Contadors case is ruled, as he occupies millions in the teams budget. I guess he has already talked to the riders he is interested in and will get them if he is forced to/able to due to the departure of Beachboy.

???The hearing starts in November, by then no decent rider will be available.

That late? Oh my.... I wasn't aware of that. I thought they might altleast have it sometime in September. I'm not getting info on this any more as I just want this desaster to be over.

In that case of course it would be very stupid to do as I suggested.
But it still remains true that Contador is occupying all that money.
I'd be very surprised though if we didn't hear of any new Saxo-Riders soon enough.

Well, I think since they are probably turned off of sending their Tour contenders to the Giro they are probably willing to give some of their other riders a chance to ride for themselves to keep them happy.

I'd love Larsson to head over to Green Edge, it'd give him a chance to be the leading TT guy for the first time in his career. He'd be able to try get a TdF TT win, or another GT TT win, and he'd be able to get into those Tony Martin stage race specials and come 2nd or 3rd overall. Before Tony Martin came along he was 2nd best TT in the world to Spartacus right?

?? Yes he will be thinking - I need to sign a new contract so I can get 3rd in a TT now and then.

What sort of idiocy is this?

He will be hired on his team qualities only. How he can fit into a team and support a leader in various races.

That's a pretty nice signing, but I'd still say Cancellara needs one more man for the cobbles.

Not sure about that one, while he's clearly more then one man away from having a good team for the cobbles classics he won without much of one two years ago and he was 1 good team mate away from at least winning P-R this year. It might be enough for him to win at least one of them, though if they want to make him the top favourite in both the monuments I agree they need 1 or 2 more top helpers.

There's BMC though now.
Ronde will be tougher for Fabian with Gilbert at the end of the BMC train, yes.

But in Roubaix, the Canc won't have faced anything new with BMC.
It'll just be the same idea that Garmin had this year, only with some different domestiques on Thor's side.

BMC will have to try what Garmin did this year. Put a man in the break, and just hope Fabian doesn't catch him. If it comes down to Fabian vs. Thor in front, Fabian will win.

Now, if Boonen is in the finale of Roubaix next year, things will be different.

Posthuma is pretty decent and Klemme has shown great potential, but they should try to re-activate Frank Hoj

Movistar's squad for next season:

http://www.biciciclismo.com/cas/site/noticias-ficha.asp?id=42417

In: José Herrada (Caja Rural), Javier Moreno (Caja Rural), Giovanni Visconti (Farnese-Vini) Jonathan Castroviejo (Euskaltel-Euskadi) Alejandro Valverde.

Out: Marzio Bruseghin, Chente García Acosta, Carlos Oyarzun, Luis Pasamontes, Francisco Pérez, Mauricio Soler (lesionado), Xavier Tondo (fallecido).

Castro and Valverde are still "unofficial". With only 24 will they fill the rest with youngsters? Although they only started with 25-26 this season and are sadly down to 24.
