Speaking of Movistar does anyone hear news of Valverde's future plans??

Is changed his mind as is currently trying to convince Skil Shimano to sign him too there roster. They are reluctant though as they don't want him to clash over the leadership for the Ardennes with Alexandre Geniez

Movistar will have a strong team next year with Rojas, Ventoso, Viscosio, Kiryienka, Castrajevo and Costa ( learning from Valverde ). Lastras did quite well this year too and Arroyo could go stage hunting.

Vicioso signed for Katusha.

You meant Visconti maybe? And he's much better also.

You forgot Valverde's comeback too

he has a number of offers but is in doubts wether he should leave his current team as he's VERY loyal to them. let's hop saldarriaga himself says that he should go for his own benefit. the guy is out of u23 league in mountains ever since he became u23

He quashed my dream of a Geniez/valverde LBL holding hands across the line as they annhilated the competition.
It's too bad Van Hummel leaves Skil, he would be another great asset to Valverde's Ardennes campaign.

Very true but obviously Alejandro would have to prove himself by working for Geniez in the ardennes before getting any leadership roles himself.

That reflects well on him I think. I have the impression Colombia es Pasion have been treated pretty badly by Coldeportes. I don't think it would do him any harm to follow Henao's example and try and get some big results in Colombia before leaving, but he should probably take the Movistar opportunity while it's there.

Working Geniez? That would be awkward.

good point. he could very well take the duarte, soler and henao route and show himself in colombian races. if he wins the vuelta colombia within 2 years be sure all the big teams will want him again and perhaps then is a better time to move. but it's very hard to say and he himself is very ambitious to europe. that was a big difference especially with henao who also chose for security and money in colombia

Haritz Orbe, Omar Fraile,Carlos Barbero, Igor Merino and Illiart Zuazubiskar, new Orbea signings for 2012... LOT of potential here

edited: the 5th man its Barbero, not Grijalba (both from Naturgas- Orbea's feeder team)....bit shocking they rate Barbero over Grijalba

just some guy said:
I kind of agree, but this whole Giro starting in the states thing - maybe get a US team an invite this year - and then I though who - UHC seems the only one at real level.

Small chance but be a good thing
From the look of that squad a Vuelta invite might not be far fetched if they get some solid early results next year....

Cobo has offers from three non-Spanish teams (including Astana), but is waiting for an offer from Geox before deciding.

More on Geox: They have offered Freire a contract for 2012, and are looking to sign other riders with UCI points. They probably can't match Astana's offer for Cobo, so are depending on his loyalty to the team. Menchov is going to fulfil his contrqct 'as far as they know'.
