Actual tweet from inrng "Garmin-Cervélo sign Australian riders Nathan Haas and Steele Von Hoff. Haas to Garmin, Von Hoff for its Chipotle-Sugarlabs development team"

Haas clearly to Garmin team proper.

Fair do's. I see now they have changed it. The tweet just before states...'Garmin-Cervelo sign Australian riders Nathan Haas and Steele Von Hoff for its Chipotle-Sugarlabs development team'

So I was indeed right that Saxo Bank were actually willing to pay that kind of money for EBH "a clause popped up during TDF where saxo bank where willing to pay 1 million for the right rider" - which obviously was EBH as he has confirmed himself. In other words, Ryo Hazaki was wrong again :p

I will see it when it happens  I've always been right about riis and especially his money problems

pretty lame for von hoff to go to chipottle. he is 24 and chipottle don't ride a very strong calendar imo. would've thought he could move to a bigger team

But he is new to cycling so slowly bringing him on is smart.

Ps called the garmin move a couple of days ago :p

A letter of intent doesn't mean the deal is done, it just confirms your intention. But a sponsor not wanting to increase their involvement in cycling isn't really surprising.

Publicus said:
Those are not legally binding, so the deal was not done if that was the only document executed between the parties.

I see Dutchsmurf already made this point. Apologies.

Ok thanks read like the team might go to court over it.

I'd never heard of him until ACF kept going on about how fast the guy was.. Clearly he's a very quick rider so a bit surprised with that.

Why are you posting these? I already wrote that Lombardi had the ability to win races. And there's nothing to see in that result list from tosatto.

I think their final place wll go to thomas dekker

I think Vaughters still isn't too convinced about it, otherwise he would have signed him a long time ago.

I can understand that, it's not like Dekker has shown a lot of enthusiasm about having to actually fight his way up from the bottom, constantly whining about the small races he has to compete in, quite clear that his massive ego (which was his biggest problem the first time around) is still there.

So Bakelants has left. What about Meersman? It was reported only a few days ago that he would be with Lotto next year.

Endura Racing (Continental) Team 2012 line-up

Jack Anderson (Aus)
Alexandre Blain (Fra)
Ian Bibby (GB)
Iker Camano (Spa)
Zak Dempster (Aus)
Rene Mandri (Est)
Jonny McEvoy (GB)
Rob Partridge (GB)
Erick Rowsell (GB)
Jon Tiernan-Locke (GB)
Scott Thwaites (GB)
Paul Voss (Ger)
Alex Wetterhall (Swe)
Ian Wilkinson (GB)
Dean Windsor (Aus)

Theyve strengthened themselves well. Bibby, Mcevoy and Tiernan-Locke were 3 of the top performing domestic Brits last year, and Zak Dempster did well enough last year that he got a stagiare deal with HTC.

I doubt he will let thomas fall though. I;m sure they had some sort of deal and vaughters tried to trigger him through media. he actually rode very well in the small belgain races but crashed unfortunately in kappelle race. let's not forget he also won that duo itt and he;'s much better itt rider than vansummeren for sure

Think they've both went to radio-schleck.

But JRanton is right. Just last week in this exact thread it was announced that Meersman wasn't happy with his racing program presented at RadioTrek and transfered to Lotto-Ridley instead.

Oh, btw. what's happening with Katusha's almost sole focus on sprinters next year? Is it the Zabel effect? They just signed Rüdiger Selig & Marco Haller, both promising young sprinters, on top of Kristoff, Vicioso, Freire & Tsatevich. Galimzyanov is gonna get a speedy train for sure, but doubt there is enough races to give everyone their fair share of the sprint cake.

I agree. They're looking like the strongest UK team next year by some way. However, Raleigh look better so far as well.

I'm sure they will be looking to dominate the UK scene with that team. To be honest, the team looks stronger than many ProContinental teams.

Hmm intresting. Am I right in saying Bakelandts is still going to Radioshack-nissan though? I think Lotto ridley would probably present better oppurtunites for meersman.

So does anyone else think Riis getting more money mean there's a good chance of Cobo to saxobank?

Dekker himself admitted that Vansummeren did most of the work.

Praetor seems to let his Dekker hate get the better of him, but actually if Vaughters didn't sign him, I wouldn't be surprised either. If Dekker wasn't Dekker, no WT team would have been interested in a guy who got the results he had in the past couple of months.

He's 24 but he's only been riding full time on the road since May... and the people around him were surprised that he won the 207 odd km Norfolk classic here in Australia. I think the type of races Chipotle ride will do him good for a season or two. Then move somewhere bigger.

It's true that Haas has only been on the road for a year but he's proven that he can win back to back tours all year here in Australia. Obviously the standard is nothing like it will be with him riding at Garmin but his endurance and the powers of recovery are there.
