Few rumors from Rai's Radiocorsa;

- it seems some big companies are trying to merger to get Contador to Movistar already for the Vuelta this year in a sort of "national pride action".
- meanwhile Contador got also a super offer from Astana, which is already said to have signed a contract with Nibali but in the case of Contador accepting it, it would be null.
- Liquigas is said to have found a new main sponsor which would be chinese.
- the cezch millionaire who own 51% of Omega Pharma is trying to get Stybar and Kreuzinguer to his team.
- Greenedge is trying to sign some young italians and talking right now to Capecchi and Ulissi.

In 2009, ASO told Caisse d'Epargne they'd be uninvited from the Tour if they brought Valverde, so maybe. RCS were always the one of the three who were least happy with the revamped WT arrangements for 2010 and onward...

I didn't have long to post then but that's the point I'm making - can RCS uninvite Lampre when they're a WT team?

Back then, the three grand tours still had some leeway in what teams they invited. (Was result of a compromise between the 3 GTS and UCI in order to bring ProTour into being). It's my understanding that the compromise has since expired, and the current world tour rules don't allow the same flexibility.

Lol, so true. Since when does he own 51% of Omega Pharma by the way? The company, not the team. I wouldn't mind the first rumour though.

I'd like that. :) Although I'd feel kind of sad for Riis.

I don't want Alberto to accept this and he won't. I do like the fact that Astana is willing to offer him an awesome contract. That makes me feel happy.

- the cezch millionaire who own 51% of Omega Pharma is trying to get Sagan and Kreuzinguer to his team.

He can have Kreuziger but Sagan needs to stay with Liquigas.

- Greenedge is trying to sign some young italians and talking right now to Capecchi and Ulissi.

No way. They need to keep their hands of the Italians. Especially the young ones. I hope Ulissi and Capecchi are smart enough to make the right decision.

Don't worry Contador will has many options to choose, my prediction is Riis for the rest of 2012 and he gonna see what happens with Saxo Bank (Sponsorship end at the end of the year, strenght of the team, etc)

Vino should retire this year but managent is weak at Astana, a key factor Contador went with Riis.

Kreuziger is an eternal prospect in pov, I don't see him stand for glory, and Sagan must remain in Liquigas once Basso quit he will be the star along Nibali.

There is no way Contador would sign for Movistar. That rumour was originally started by DAOTEC :D
First, for financial reasons, they can't afford Contador's salary, having already Valverde.
Second, for WT points reasons. They already have Valverde, scoring most of their points, that won't be counting for the selection of WT teams at the end of the season. So having another big leader with no WT points for the coming 2 years, I don't think that would be a good plan for them.

Nah, that rumour's been going on in the Spanish press ever since Armstrong announced his comeback. Abarcá Sports of course have always maintained a kind of "it would be nice" outlook on it (we've even had Valverde announcing that if Contador signed he would work for him, back in 2010) and allowed the speculation to continue, because it's a bit of press exposure for nothing.

As I mentioned in "general news"; according to a team manager Nibali has already signed with Astana for 2013 and 2014 and Lampre is waiting the ok from RCS to bring Pellizzotti at Giro before signing him.

The same source says George Hincapie is ending his career with Radioshack and Bruyneel.........

Nibali should stay with Liquigas. Sagan needs to go to Quick Step. I think he'll end up there eventually, but he will probably resign for Liquigas this year. But some day... :p

Liquigas is obviously a good team for Sagan, but QS just have more experience in the classics.

I doubt Roman will move, he is guaranteed leadership status at Astana for the GT's he wants to compete in this year. I could understand Sagans' desire to move, Liquigas are a really talented team but he will have to share the team with Nibali. I don't think he will move to OPQS though as they did not sign him in 08.

Why wouldn't any team want to sign them both? Both are good riders- one a strong rider everywhere- with lots of potential and the other is a strong climber who could in the future win stage races- and maybe along with Syzmd should not have to work for a leader.

Does anyone know how long Demares' contract with FDJ is???
