Andrew Fenn to sky? That would be great for the.

Have you heard anything TeamSkyFans?

Yes, but im not sure it will happen this year.

Would be nice, depends what other neo's are on offer. Dowsett will still be NP next year but Kennaugh and Appollonio wont be so there is space for 1-2 more on top of Rowe.

THere is a lot of talk that they considered him last year but he needed another year to develop.

Perhaps he has other offers as well. Though I guess there might be a chance that he's staying.

If it's true about Martin, I guess he was on the short list of people sponsor Saxo Bank would kick in additional money to hire. I wouldn't want Contador or Porte to hear about it before the Tour is over, though.

That would be a good move for Tony Martin, apart from anything else I'd like to see what he can do when he doesn't have to lead out Cavendish. Also, assuming Contador stays with Saxo and with Porte, Riis would be able to encourage him to develop in week long stage races, which is where I think his talents best fit.

Geraint Thomas and GreenEdge at a guess.
Probably. If it comes out of nowhere in a discussion, please type full names. It helps people who don't read all the topics and don't want to learn all acronyms like GT, GE, AC, AS, FS, CE, IB, TV, TGBM, TGAK...

No way in hell does Sky let Geraint leave. He looks like being the next big thing in British cycling, they will throw money at him.

Agreed.

I think that he can become an excellent all round classics rider. He is on very good form this Tour and did a good ride yesterday.

He can lead out/He can TT/He can win an Olympic Gold medal/ he can get over the hills/he can ride cobbles/he's a team player/he's British. No way Sky lets him go if possible.

CQ has him as no.2 on the team, narrowly. Also he's a product of Brailsford's British Cycling.

Martin to Saxo Bank would probably improve his GT showings, because he wouldn't have to lead out.

Well, he's an obvious replacement for voigt/cancellara. The tempo-team riis build is now racing for another team, time to rebuild. It could also indicate that Porte is leaving the team, wouldn't be a big shock.

The effect of his lead outs is overrated if you ask me. He doesn't do well in GTs because he can't climb. Kim Kirchen did some huge pulls for Cavendish in 2008, and still finished 8th.

Martin should concentrate on week-long races and time trials - he could build himself a very impressive CV - and a move to Saxo might allow him to do just that. His role in GTs would be similar to Cancellara, who tends to quite well.

Phil A seemed to drop it on SBS TV last night.

He dropped a lot of things. His "Leo-tard" slip was awesome! :D

Yes well every place on the internet, especially fora, have their own in-words and acronym/abbreviations. Less whinging and more lurking like the rest of us have had to do?

It took me 2 full Giro ('10) stages to finally realise who Oscuro Italiano was. :D

If Cav does actually leave for Sky, surely staying at Htc would be his best option?

Plus I highly doubt G would want to be anywhere else in an Olympic year. Sky will bend over backwards for him to make sure he's firing for London 2012.

Correct. Brailsford's already said that 2012 is the priority next year, and Sky, as sponsors, are on board with that. I imagine G will do a full Classics season and then focus on the Team Pursuit.
