So it is 0:11 here, GMT +1, when I wake up tomorrow I suppose this thread is 4 pages further. The 1st of august, let the cycling carroussel begin!

Do not have the patience for this. All riders should be forced to announce their new team ON the 1st of August. Come on GreenEDGE, announce the full team today, then we can assume everyone else is BMC and I confirm my 8 year olds chance of a pro tour contract because no one else is left.

It's to be expected really, as long as they don't lose Voigt and Cancellara they'll still have most of their flat stage shepherds.

Next year will probably be Voigt's last year.

That article also says:

"Ryan told the paper that the new squad has already made bank guarantees with the UCI and has assurances that it would start the Giro d’Italia, Tour de France and Tour of California next year."

I'm very skeptical of those "assurances". Sure, if they get a Pro license then they're assured entry to the Giro and Tour. Otherwise, I think they'd need a pretty great roster to get even one GT invite.

It seems like O'Grady was also their mountain shepherd.. But yeah Cancellara and Voigt are enough to protect them on the flats. They need to bring another mountain rider anyway.

They already had some good riders that just didn't make the Tour team.
Brice Feillu, Stefan Denifl, Oliver Zaugg are good enough to help, and Thomas Rohregger has some nice results.

So they have some guys that could do some good support work, I might expect Feillu to be on the Tour team next year.

That said, they could still use one or two more mountain goats, if anything to just replace the supreme mediocrity that is Linus Gerdemann in the mountains.

Fuglsang is a beast in the mountains, so if he's back to normal next year he can be like a szmyd/navarro domestique for the Schlecks. Feillu would be a good choice as long as he doesn't just ride for himself (like John Gadret).

Brice Feillu is overrated. Nothing special.

That was me actually. I wonder if GE reads these forums or if they are looking at riders in the same way I was doing. Teklehaimanot certainly makes a lot of sense for a team looking to get a PT license to sign right now.

Sorry, I knew it was you, dunno where I got Maltiv from

Keep em coming Ferminal, been waiting all day for an avalanche of news re Greenedge and BMC but so far not much...

curse this anticipation... making me very unproductive at work i tell ya...

Hoping that the O'Grady transfer is more than just the Australian paper having a guess... will wait and see... would be invaluable to have someone like O'Grady to mentor teh next batch of aussie cyclists...

As I posted last week.

Greenedge will make riders names know mid august -

But Cav and Gilbert will start the ball rolling - once these 2 are signed and made public other teams will know the who, what of next year.

WTF!?! is this a recent picture? or when he was training with them?

When out training you have to be in your contracted team kit. Team cans terminate contracts over it afaik.

Do people realise transfer season runs from August to January? Even then riders are signed after that. :D
