The World Tour Ranking is totally different from the ranking for the WT license.
For the license the last 2 seasons of the top 15 riders of each team count (including non-WT events).

Whats the point of the ranking then if its not for the license?

What's the point in Formula 1 scoring if it's not for the licensing?
What's the point in any American Professional sports (NBA, NHL etc) ranking if it's not for the licensing?

etc, etc, etc

Wonder where Zabel, Aldag, Holm will go next year?

Zabel going wherever Cav + Renshaw do?

Well, Holm says the best scenario for him would be a part-time DS job, otherwise he's considering an end to his work within the world of cycling. As he says to Danish media: He loves cycling but he loves his family more.

Well, it's still the basis for the licensing ranking but the licensing ranking is extended to include all pro continental riders and well as extended rankings for the various continental rankings.

Winning the specific WT rankings don't make that much difference other than pride I would think. Unless there is some prize money involved.

The WT ranking does play a part in determining participation in the world championships though.

Why doesn't Mark just tell to which team he's going? No point in keeping silence. We all know it's 99% going to be Sky anyway. I wonder why he just doesn't come out and say it.

QuickstepOmegaPharma (QSOPH) signed Michal Kwiatkowski (Radioshack - 21)

I guess he couldn't cope with the fact that most of the riders in the team are twice his age

Because Sky (if it is them) will want to announce it at some sort of press conference (live on Sky Sports News, no doubt), to maximise publicity.

My guess would be at the Olympic test race.

Cam Meyer is one of my favorites. I know he is a young guy and racing with his brother is pretty important. I wish he had picked a different team. I also hope that GreenEdge has a more euro presence than they are looking like right now

Pro Tour teams must send a team to all pro tour events, so I am assuming they will need to have a pretty big presence in Europe anyway.

If Alexander Kristoff ends up at Garmin - Cervelo next year I'm going to take credit for it:

So you should though I think he may of been told to delete his tweet about asking JV if he is interested.

btw, if he goes to Garmin Alex should buy you a beer.:D

If they become WT. Although Cameron Meyer was a good buy cause he won the Tour Down Under(easy points)

Jens Keukeleire linked to greenedge.

Good rider. I think GE's euro riders should be more for the hills and climbs. there are an abundance of aussies or Kiwi's who can sprints.

What will happen to Greipel with Omega splitting?

Danish media reported that Lotto is interested in Lars Bak and wants him to become a part of Greipel's train. Not sure they are right though, wasn't it Omega Pharma who wanted international riders like Greipel while Lotto wanted to focus on Belgian riders?

I think Cav said something that still some things need to be confirmed, didn't he yesterday?

He probably didn't sign a one year contract, so his Omega-Pharma contract should still be intact ergo he's going to Quickstep. Unless there's a special clause in his contract about situations like this. QS would be a good fit as he'd have Boonen(he wouldn't mind to stop sprinting), Ciolek, Chichi and the Velits brothers in his train.

Yea, but if you've lost Gilbert you might want to focus on one of the few proven winners you actually have.

VDB is a team leader for sure, Vanendert perhaps for the future if they can keep hold of him - but how many WINS do they have? Greipel has a lot more. Never underestimate the power of the W column - Ws = points, points = licences. Ws = invites.

Greipel can win stages. Stages = not so many points. GC = a lot of points. Ergo, GC riders are more useful than sprinters.
