Wow. Renshaw to Rabobank? I figured he'd follow Cavendish. Or is Cavendish also signing on to Rabobank but just keeping it secret for the time being? Don't think so.

So I guess Theo Bos will benefit from Renshaw's leadouts eh?

Doesn't Renshaw have any ambitions at being led-out himself? I would think if he's fine with being lead-out man he could've just followed Cav.

So Renshaw wants to have his own shot - which is to be expected but will probably fail.

The article means he is going to the tour so less help for Gesink - maybe more work for the team or at least 1-2 to help Renshaw to the front or it will be a waste of a rider.

He may help Bos with position etc which will be good and lead out Bing again good.

But the funniest thing which we all knew/thought anyway confirmed Cav to SKY.

And Swifty Bits gets a new job title lead out man, I guess

I suspect they will use G as a leadout most of the time.

According to CyclingNews, they say Leopard-Trek's looking to sing Degenkolb. Hasn't he already signed to Skil-Shimano?

ty guys good to see some1 still has some good sense.

hushovd has never been able to follow/pull the right move when things get to the decisive parts of P-R and even tho he has 2 good placings never in those races was he in a position to actually contend for the win.

hushovd is just like flecha. a guy that can top 5 P-R but has no chance to win it.

in fact atm only 2 guys can enter roubaix and say " i will make the race so i can win it" and those are boonen and cancellara the others are just pending on those guys moves.

I don't agree. Lars Boom proved this year that he is also capable of making a decisive move. There are a few others that I am sure will be significant front runners in the near future including Thomas and Degenkolb (especially if Skil continue their fantastic attacking team tactics at PR).

Reports from many within HTC who said Mark could the best lead out guy in the world or top 15 - 20 sprinter. Plus Renshaw has had his chances and not shown much.

Yup. I mean does Renshaw have the speed to top Theo Bos to be the top sprinter at Rabobank?

But you forget that Cancellara attacked to try to get up to JvS, and Hushovd couldn't handle it. Thor was supposed to follow Cancellara's last attack, and if he made it to JvS, he would outsprint him, but he couldn't follow the Canc.

I didn't forget - remember that Cancellara made that move after 25km rest and soft pedalling. My point was that if they had continued to ride at 35-40kms to go and caught the leading group that Cancellara would not have won this year.

Does Bos have the legs to ride a grand tour to be the top sprinter at Rabo?

They will give Renshaw a go I think, but his job should be helping Mathews and Bos, time will tell how it works out.

Yeah but what has he been trainging for for the last 3 years? Sustained power output as opposed to actual sprinting, it may take a bit but he has the top end speed, he just needs to train for it

I suspect that's incorrect ;)

Swift will struggle fighting Cav into s good position,i EBH will be given mostly a free role not sure he has quite Renshaws top end speed but had a very high power output. Plus he and Cav had a couple succesful trial runs during the tour.

Of course he wouldn't have won, Thor had been in his wheel all the time. But we've discussed this over and over again after PR so no point in starting this discussion again :p

and what Thor lacks in PR, he makes up in the Tour, he's always great there :)

I would have thought

Thomas - Swift - Cav

Does Thomas have the top end speed to get Cav to 200 -150 to go?

Thomas did unintentionally lead out Cav at Cap Frehel and then EBH at Lisieux so he's definitely capable of doing it on difficult finishes and with some specific training I'm confident he could do it permanently. The concern is it would hamper his own objectives.

Unnamed sources have stated this to news outlets in the Netherlands, so I no longer know for certain, yesterday it was reported that he was signed by Skil, but nothing official has as of yet been communicated

Straight out of left field with the Renshaw rumour!

Personally I think it would be a bad decision. I love watching him ride and he's been a top bloke every time I've met him but he's not the fastest guy on Rabobanks books. Bos, Friere and Matthews are all faster in my opinion.

He's a genius at the lead out and to me I think he'd get more glory and notice sticking to leading out Cav.
