Cav to Skil Shimano and Cesc Fabregas will reject a move to Barcelona to sign for Skil Shimano, and in turn, Skil and BMC will rule the cycling world.

Fabregas should stay with his current team. They've got loads of panache and haven't won anything significant for ages - lots of cycling fans lap that sort of stuff up. They "animate the league", before the proper teams move in and take the silverware home.

Any idea if Skil- Shimano do get Martin/ Degenkolb whether they will get another sponsor and if they might sign Konig to ride for them. Maybe a Fothen as well? That would be a nice German team.

Degenkolb will win M-SR in 3 years that is my bold prediction. He just has to last the distance and probably a teammate there to help him control the run- in ( otherwise Gilbert/ Cancellara will own him )

i think Lotto- Ridley will fail if JVDB does not sign with them. They might be able to scrape the barrel with riders from Continental teams and leftovers from OPQS but will only become PC

No it's not 1 million in euros or australian dollars. I have no idea where the Australian got it from but he's not getting 1mil a year

Well, 700k euro is 1 million dollars, so apparently not.

I'm not really sure what his market value would be, maybe in the 400-500k euro range, as a pure guess, if Cav & Thor are looking at around 2m euro.

my bad was ment to write AUD -

I think Breschel makes about 500,000, Renshaw certainly won't get more than him.

Gesink about 800k, no way Renshaw will make the same as their Tour team leader. Maybe 1 million aussie dollars for the entire contract (2 years)? That would be about 350k a year, that would be a reasonable figure.

I wasn't told what his contract was worth only that it wasn't 1mil. I would think it's mid 6 figure but I'm not sure

Euskaltel for 2012:

The fifteen confirmed riders for 2012: Igor Antón, Mikel Astarloza, Pello Bilbao, Pierre Cazaux, Gorka Izagirre, Jon Izagirre, Mikel Landa, Egoi Martínez, Mikel Snow, Juanjo Oroz, Rubén Pérez, Samuel Sánchez, Romain Sicard, Gorka Verdugo and Amets Txurruka.

Currently on the team and haven’t re-signed for 2012: Javier Aramendia , Jorge Azanza, Jonathan Castroviejo, Koldo Fernández de Larrea, Iñaki Isasi, Javier Minguez, Alan Pérez, Daniel Sesma, Pablo Urtasun and Iban Velasco.

Looks like Koldo is off to Garmin which is something I like, to me there is no point in signing for Movistar, at least going to an American team is something different in terms of culture, language, whereas it would be very similar at Movistar, or even Geox (which is why I like the idea of Henao going to Sky). Castroviejo will be a big loss IMO (you know, a guy that can actually TT in EE).

Wow, terrible article. Okay, it's nice to see how's renewed their contracts and who hasn't, but:
Euskatel-Euskadi generally only sign riders from the Basque country but have two Frenchman on the team this year in Romain Sicard and Pierre Cazaux
Uh-huh.

Also this:
Ricardo Garcia and Victor Cabedo (...) are rumoured to be joining the professional team next year.

"Yes, they have options
Hooray for abysmal translations!

I hope Mikel Snow = Mikel Nieve?

I agreee it will be fun to have Koldo at Garmin. I like seeing riders and teams mix things up.

Any word on new signings? Does EE have any young sprinters coming to try to take Koldo's place? Now that the World Tour requires them to ride so many races they don't care about, I wonder if they might make a couple more diverse signings? I imagine there must be some decent riders who'd be happy to immerse themselves in Basque language and culture for a chance to ride Flanders and Roubaix.

Thinking about it now, Velonation must be short of cash if they need to use g00gle translate.

I think you probably need a bit more than that to get a Euskaltel gig. The only non-Basques they have or are looking at have come through the Fundación Euskadi feeder teams for several years (and in Victor Cabedo's case, have a Basque long-term girlfriend who is on a women's team under the Fundación's umbrella).

They do have a few riders with cyclocross experience, however, Gorka Izagirre being the one that springs to mind immediately.
