According to this German/Swiss site tracking transfers, Froome is linked to half the pro peloton, so I would guess it's more than 50/50 that he'll go somewhere else than Sky since I doubt it's all baseless.

Am I doing something wrong - I can only see him linked to Saxobank?

It's just a rumour, don't forget that. I find it hard to believe, it is more than Contador is getting. He earns about 3.5 mln from the team (+2.0 from Specialized).

Well, his salary was rumoured to be 5.5mln, with Specialized paying 2.0 mln. Last year he signed himself a 0.7 mln euro deal with Specialized, and this year he also wears Specialized shoes, so it is logical he gets more.

Giro is around 0.4-0.5 IIRC.

It makes sense in one way but again it comes about rather late in the season and lots of riders would be looking for a new team at a time when a lot of teams are filling up fast.

They would at least get a strong team for the GTs. Contador, Navarro, Tiralongo, Kessiakoff, Kiserlovski, Kreuziger, Kashechkin (if he finds his form again).
