Post Vuelta-rumours: Chris Froome apparently signed a contract with SaxoBank.

If that is true it makes the Astana/SBS merger less likely imo (I really dont hope that they will merge btw)

EDIT: after reading back I can see that I am quite the slow-hand (0;

It makes sense in one way but again it comes about rather late in the season and lots of riders would be looking for a new team at a time when a lot of teams are filling up fast.

They would at least get a strong team for the GTs. Contador, Navarro, Tiralongo, Kessiakoff, Kiserlovski, Kreuziger, Kashechkin (if he finds his form again).

It also makes sense in terms of how quite Saxo have been in replacing riders leaving.

2012 the birth of the Superteam.

Cav tweeting that he has banged his head on the roof of the bus due to HTC's budget bus, and that that wont happen at his new team.

The clues are coming thick and fast.

Contador, Chris Froome, Tiralongo, Kreuziger and Navarro in the Tour would be okish I guess.

To be honest, Contador + Snow White & the seven dwarfs is an okish team for the Tour.

Let's see...Kontador, Kreuziger, Kessiakoff, Kiserlovski, Kangert, Kashechkin, Kroon, Klostergaard and hmm...They need to recruit Klöden, Kiryenka, Kruijswijk, Kadri or König or someone like that...

Although race admin for the Tob has just tweeted

"Hendo working for Greipel and Cav without Renshaw. Pretty exciting prospect for next year."

Cav to Lotto? Strange.

I thinks it's meant this way:

"Hendo working for Greipel - and Cav without Renshaw - Pretty exciting prospect for next year."

Snow White and the seven dwarves was what Cipo called the 2008 CSF-Navigare team.

That would be an awesome team for the Tour (as long as there's no TTT, but they can more than make that up in the mountains).

This is the wrong forum, bit I find Doc and Dopey's performances very suspect.

Maybe he's going to be in the Rabobus next year?

Gianetti confirmed during the Vuelta that he had extended the contract with Cobo for two more years. Doesn't sound like Geox would pull out now.

the team is continuing no matter what as gianetti has more sponsors lined up than all the pt teams combined. footon, servetto, diadora, tmc transformers etc

It's just a rumour, don't forget that.:p I find it hard to believe, it is more than Contador is getting. He earns about 3.5 mln from the team (+2.0 from Specialized).

contador makes 6 million. half the budget of that team

If they want to get a WT licence they need the Geox money though. Sastre is leaving and I bet Menchov would too if they don't move up in status.

Diadora is part of Geox, no?
