Funny enough Cancellara might try to patch things up with Riis for the future. Might be putting too much into it but he states "that cycling is a small world were ppl's paths might cross again. He never intented to leave the team in a bad manner and that at some point he will have a bottle of wine with Riis so they can put things behind them". As I see it he tries to rebuild a burned bridge in case he will need to cross it sometime in the future.

EDIT: on a 2nd thought he is stating that prior to the WC in Denmark, so I think he is just being polite towards the hosts.

Regarding Fuglsang last year he stated that I couldnt imagine ever riding for Contador against his friends (the Schlecklets). After the RS merger some ppl are getting less cocky it seems. He is still under contract for one more year btw, but he could pull a Fabian, u never know (0;

Is what he said really being cocky? I woukd think given he has no previous of cocky outbursts atleast that I know of he was nearly backing his freinds and conforming his loyalty.

Yeah he seems cool in Beyond the Peloton. Hope Vanmarcke gets a bit more freedom in De Ronde next year, but Haussler + Farrar are still there.

Don't worry in 2 years he should get a win at a classic.

No, Lugano is a place were a lot of athletes train of all kinds of sport. Great sport facilities and a mild climate. Perhaps Pippo wants to remain in Italy for training although if someone dropped you of in Lugano and said you were in Italy you'd believe him.

I thought he lived in Monaco these days?

I'm gonna say Ghent-Wevelgem to start off. He's lucky he has Klier there to teach him.

It seems like Haussler's going to stick it out with Garmin. I havn't read anything about him wanting to leave which is weird because I thought he was the one that would leave at the end of the season and not Thor.

Only because we're not used to it. We don't make these comments about the name Victor, which means the same thing.

Many South Americans really like their names to be original, and many also like their names to sound Anglo-Saxon. Combine the two, and you get Winner.

Yeah but names that aren't transparent anymore are a different matter. No one thinks about the etymology of "Victor" (if we did, no one would use Biblical names - they're too unwieldy).

My parents didn't think I was going to be particularly renowned or bright when they called me Rober.

Phil lives in Monaco and trains in Italy all the time. Liguria for example is ideal to train.

My parents have always been disppointed that o could live up to Elegant name Horacio. The burden of pressure is too much sometimes.

I suppose it wouldn't be that long of a bike ride from Monaco into Italy, IIRC Gilbert trains on the Poggio fairly regularly as a result.

The way his statements came across was very cocky. Might just be bad communication but instead on commenting about how he doesnt wanna ride for Contador he should just have said he preffered to stay with the Schlecklets.

Ahh that's what I thought he did say. Seem to be unnessecarily shooting himself in the foot.

At this rate I see Schlecks-Bruynell beaten by former radio and leopard dudes:p

Tdf 2012 will be the funnier Tour since 2009 with Armstrong

Can`t wait to see Levi give Bruyneel the finger from tdf podium :D

You're going to be waiting a long time then... :p Andy's talent will ensure he's on the podium again next year. He'll just not be on the top step yet again.

I think Andy needs to focus on winning a stage race next year (say Paris-Nice).

he needs more dedication to the sport - full stop.
Would help him a great deal imo.

He hasn't raced it the last couple of years, but did Tirreno instead. The one with a somewhat realistic shot at Paris-Nice is Fränk, seeing that he already finished 2nd once. It's usually his first real goal of the season and he can do it if there is no ITT and it's not too cold, windy or rainy because then 0.05% body fat just don't cut it. It would be a great addition to his stage-race palmarès (Suisse, Critérium, Luxembourg)

I don't think that was his point, andy needs to actually try and win some of the smaller stage races. Surely it would improve him as a rider.

As Timmy suggested above, that wasn't my point. He actually needs to win a stage race (and not just a stage of a race or a one day classic).

Good point. He would have to change his preparation though, which might be a good thing. With his usual program I don't see a smaller stage race he has a realistic shot at
