guess he doesn't want to play third fiddle anymore.
perhaps something to think about for for his pal EBH, wich at the moment seems to be confident in turning into the new Hincapie.

what is ebh supposed to win then? he seriously lacks in the classics, he can't win massprints or itt's either. that's just who he is. a hincapie

He might end up team leader if Gesink keeps failing to finish grand tours.

aye, he is an amazing domestique in almost all terrains (possibly even all) but he aint the best at anything. It seems like he has become better in those uphill finishes though. But Sagan exists lol.

Daniel Friebe‏@friebos
Am hearing that Dario Cataldo, the former Baby Giro winner and 12th in the grown-up version this year, is close to joining Sky.

we're talking about a guy just turned 25 here. Gilbert was 26 when he won his first long classic; Kelly was 27.
Without help from the team - 5-6 guys are always dedicated to carry the fat frog over the hills - it is not exactly easier to compete.

It's not Sky's fault that EBH has only won Hamburg with them.

Oh, but it is.
- No domestiques to follow Voeckler when he attacked and won gp Quebec 2 years ago.
- Eisel sprinted for himself at Harelbeke instead of leading out a faster man.
- No first lieutnant at G-W this year. Instead of handfighting in the bunch he would surely be top 3 with Thomas to lead him out.
- Why was he degraded to leadout for Sutton at Kuurne last year?

He won Hamburg BECAUSE the whole team was comitted to him. Strange that Sky didn't learn something there.

They were confident Sutton would win?

All the examples you cite, EBH would have won if he was good enough. Any rider can fight in a heavier division if they have absolute commitment from a strong team, yet this is a rare commodity. In those examples, riding on which teams would result in EBH winning? That someone may have won the race if they were on the strongest team of that day does not imply that their current team is restricting their results (if we are being realistic).

What type of rider is Dominik Nerz?

He's a punchy climber, carreer highlight so far was 2nd place in Rund um den Finanzplaz Eschborn-Frankfurt (behind M Moser). Also 6th in Tour de Slovenie and 47th in the Tour this year. Definitely has potential afaik.

I thought Syzmd was also moving???

AFter very mediocore year for him, I don't think he's as good target for other teams as he was in 2010. At Tour he was really quite bad.

Anton, Landa and Ion Izagirre all extended contracts until 2014 with Euskaltel. Samuel Sanchez's descision is still pending, if I understand the article correctly (my Italian is pretty bad)

Correct. You can take my word though that Samu will also stay, barring unexpected new Alonso teams (which isn't gonna happen).

On another note, we might expect some Dutchmen at Team Sky, Mr Murdoch penetrated the Dutch TV market

According to Polish website Pro-cycling.org there is a huge possibility that he'll go to Movistar; also AG2R is named like posted above.

(And his name is Szmyd, not Syzmd :) pronounced like 'Shmyt')

His best days as a super domestique seem to be over. Has not done anything special since 2010 Giro.
