Sky is the worst choice i think. Prefer Liquigas, wich need a leader for Gts. But we'll see, Dombrowski is a super big talent, best young in Gila, Utah and Colorado in his first season as pro. Amazing. Amazing Giro Bio beating the best promise climber of Italy, Fabio Aru. Awesome attack in Terminillo, ill never forget when he dropped Ilnur Zhakarin. Literally Joseph destroyed the russian guy. And good ascent at the Passo Gavia with huge differences (dont know if this is the correct word:D) Incredible performances. So i think the team he' ll choose wouldnt be a problem for his development and career.

I'd choose SKY who is committed for years, more than Liquigas that will step back next year as main sponsor

Liquigas Team has been bought by another paying agent, which will announce the new sponsors soon. Nineteen riders from current roster plus Krizek, De Marchi and Wurf makes 22 riders already contracted for 2013. There will be continuity.

Good to hear, I would miss the lime green in the peloton. Plus I want to see Sagan continue his domination of the sport with Liquigas :D.

The new leader of Liquigas-Cannondale: BRIXIA SPORT
Brixia Sport SpA is the new sports company that has taken over the Liquigas-Cannondale Pro Cycling Team project, the professional cycling team led by team manager Roberto Amadio. With Paolo Zani as president and Amadio and Paolo Papetti as managing directors, Brixia Sport has recently acquired Liquigas Sport SpA which has managed the green and blue team since 2004. The wealth of experience from eight years of racing will be not be wasted though as Brixia Sport plans to reinvest it in the team’s future. During next weeks the company will announce also the sponsors and the technical partners that will support this new adventure.

«This sports project was created with passion and produces excellent results so it couldn’t end here, » explained President Paolo Zani. «Therefore I decided to take over the company to ensure this invaluable experience is put to good use. Liquigas-Cannondale has achieved a highly commendable level of sporting performance and professionalism. It has accomplished so many successes and we want just as many in the future. We shall never forget the importance of how these have been achieved: we shall always be guided by the principles of sports ethics and transparency. We will strive to strengthen the organisation by making it more international and comprehensive, bringing young riders to the fore and setting ourselves ambitious goals. From a sports perspective, confirming riders such as Basso, Sagan, Moser, Viviani and Caruso is the first major step forward. »

The genesis of Brixia Sport has solid foundations and focuses on renewal. «We want to continue being exponents of modern, professional cycling with a first-rate organisation, » said team manager Amadio. «We need to use what we have created up to now as our new starting point. We plan to pursue a project with maximum attention to detail in every aspect of competitive riding that ensures athletes have the right frameworks, facilities and professionals at their disposal. We’ll concentrate on building a well-rounded team with top and up-and-coming riders. The most intriguing challenge will be to renew our organisation while retaining our character, particularly when it comes to selecting athletes: we are renowned for the way we bring on talented young riders, and this will be our main concern. We would like to thank those who, like Liquigas and Cannondale, have believed in and developed this project with us, and to those who give us the opportunity to expand it in the future. »

In view of 2013 season Brixia Sport has renewed the contracts of 19 riders from the current team for the 2013 season. Ivan Basso, Peter Sagan, Moreno Moser, Elia Viviani and Damiano Caruso will be reference riders of the team and will be joined by Stefano Agostini, Maciej Bodnar, Federico Canuti, Mauro Da Dalto, Ted King, Kristijan Koren, Paolo Longo Borghini, Alan Marangoni, Maciej Paterski, Daniele Ratto, Fabio Sabatini, Juraj Sagan, Cristiano Salerno e Josè Cayetano Sarmiento.

Three, at the moment, the new signings: Italian Alessandro De Marchi (from Androni-Venezuela), Austrian Matthias Krizek (neo-professional rider from Marchiol-Emisfero-Site) and Australian Cameron Wurf (from Champion System) that already wear the Liquigas-Cannondale jersey in 2011. In addition to completing the squad, Brixia Sport’s plans for the immediate future also include focusing on maintain the team’s UCI WorldTour licence that team had already till 2014.

Vanmarcke. maybe a Rabo-boy? Good team for him. Boom, Breschel, Van Winden, Leezer... not bad team for the northern classics.

Breschel will probably join STB though. He should have stayed at Garmin in my opinion, but I guess unknown (or known) factors played a role.

Is this certain? It appears that Brixia Sport SpA have bought out Liquigas Sport SpA rather than taking over the sponsorship rights of the team.

Seems from the info that this is more about the organism behind the team, such as Slipstream Sports (Garmin), Abarcá Sports (Movistar) or Riis Cycling (STB)

That's exactly what I read it to be. They just changed the "inner" society, and the sponsorships will be announced at a later date.

Hm, not liking this thread as a sticky.

I'm the only one that overlooks sticky-threads bar stage threads?

Stickies blow, its as if they need to be stickied for people to remember instead of it dieing its eminent death if its falls from peoples mind.

People will say, its keeps them from having other started, but that theory is totally out the window as threads hovering in high are being recreated daily yet nothing is done about it. Oh well S.O.S.

Once again his agent rules out a Belgian team and he gives some reason for why he leaves Garmin:

"He also could have stayed at Garmin but then he’s looking for a structure that’s a little bit closer to home and where he comes from. He’s 24 and he feels at this moment that he must carry Garmin in the Classics, while it’s still important to develop."

So not a Belgian team, but a team that is structured like one. Also he doesnt wanna carry the team in the classecs as he is to young for that. Now, the obvious choice is Rabobank, who he has also been linked to. Maybe it will be announced at the same time as the departure of Breshel. An outsider might be Sky who stated that they wanna start winning classics now, and he wouldnt have to carry the team. A wild shot could be Saxo, since Riis is often slow to present new riders - him and Breschel would be a nasty duo, but I doubt that will happen.

My pick: Rabobank

... but apparently he doesn't want to have to carry the classics team, and at Rabo that's what he'll have to do, certainly if Breschel leaves. OTOH, same goes for Saxo.

Vacansoleil, maybe? ;)

Ye could be an outsider too. But one thing we have to take into consideration is that the team might recruit other classic riders too (so that he wouldnt have to carry the team). But Rabo got some decent cobble riders.

Oh and how about this bet: RSNT?! He would learn from the best and Spartacus would get the sidekick he has needed so badly since Breschel. And the team is organized by a Belgian

I think it will be Sky. They must have signed a pretty big classics rider because they released Flecha who had a contract with them for 2013. And if previous years are anything to go by, Sky tend to announce their signings at the end of the season so that would fit with why Vanmarcke's new team hasn't revealed him yet.

Would surpise me, Sky have two (three) talented Classics-specialists already with Thomas, Stannard and Hagen. Purely in results on the cobbles Vanmarcke probably rates above those, but I feel Sky may want to focus on their UK talents instead.

I feel like Sky have a sort of laidback attitude to the classic. "Hope for the best, a win is a bonus". Unlike the belgian teams where "You HAVE to win".

Sky will give him room to develop over time. They have a solid coaching team around the riders, and Eddy, G and Ian is the same age. Could form a scary quartet over the next years when Boonen and Spartacus start to fade ;)

According to teamskyfans.com Bob Jungels (winner of u23 roubaix) is also rumored to go to sky, if Vanmarcke is planning on going to Sky the help of Jungels means he wouldn't solely be carrying the team. Sky and Rabobank I think would be the best teams for him. Radioshack I think would also be a good team but I don't know how many opportunities he would get there.
