Yeah, because that's the reason why Gesink focused on the Vuelta.

He crashed like usual in the Tour and rode a pretty invisible Vuelta afterwards. How's that any better than what JVDB did at the Tour? It's ok to focus on the Giro/Vuelta but not the Tour?

I never said there was anything wrong with focusing on the tour, but it would be nice if JVDB tried to win other stage races. At least Gesink won California this year.

Now I know that maybe there just aren't enough Dutch riders that can reach a World Tour level to fill 3 teams, but what Argos is doing is just ridiculous.

I remember Gesink tried a couple of attacks in the Vuelta, but with that joke of an acceleration there's just no way that's going to work. At least it's not the mentality that's the problem, but the ability. Hopefully he can improve on that for next year.

He already said that he lacked a bit of power on the climbs. Not sure if that will ever return, I read his doctor said his leg fracture was "the worst he's ever seen".

How is this even a discussion. Easily the better team.

Yes, they really did great things with their transfer budget. On paper they are the most improved pro team from 2012 to 2013. Their only significant losses were Roche and Hinault. Other than that, they are keeping all of their good riders and bringing in a whole load of guys who are lots better than the riders they are replacing.

I'm not quite sure how they managed it, given that they have a lower budget than most WT teams. They are likely to be one of the more exciting teams to watch in 2012, although they still probably won't rack up any massive win total.

This is true, although hating goes too far for me. I just feel sorry for the riders that would have a big future if the staff weren't such idiots. For instance long time ago Maassen suggested the son of his local bike shop(also my former local shop btw) owner to be team mechanic for Rabo. Well, that guy did very well in the infamous Rasmussen 2005 Tour TT fiasco, for example But he stayed until just a few years ago, when they gradually pushed him out of his mechanic duties. Just the plain idiocy... I wonder what Zeeman has up his sleeve.

What's more important, is the privately sponsored team still planning on some other changes in management, for example Knebel leaving?

No man, but check the guy who has to change Rasmussens wheel about halfway this clip. He's a nice guy and all, and surely no dope dealer , but in this case he f'ed up, first picking up the broken wheel and then having to go back to the car for a new bike making Rasmussen lose vital seconds with all camera attention on him.

Btw the Leo van Vliet suggestion isn't a bad one, as Lars Boom is his favourite rider
