I am sure they will keep one of the Colombians. And it shouldn't hurt Sky very much considering how many riders of similar quality will be on offer ( Blanco / Radioshack / Vacasnoleil / and many others ).

Some of the young British riders look promising. At least three riders will probably retire from Radioshack but sponsorship is still a real issue and riders like the Schlecks and Cancellara demand high salaries. Cancellara won't have a problem but be interesting to see where the other two end up if the team folds completely.

Henao will stay but Uran will leave, that's my guess.

If RadioShack and Vacansoleil will fall then maybe IAM will have a chance becoming WT with possible signing contract with Cancellara.

No way on earth Sky pick up the Schlecks. Andy goes nowhere without Fränk, and while they could just about get away with Rogers and Barry, the ZTP at Sky will never let them sign the Schlecks, because they can't spirit away Fränk's positive test. And even if they tried, it happened at the 2012 Tour, which is kind of the race they want to draw maximum attention to.

I hope Henao will leave, he is ready to ride GTs for himself as a team leader

No I agree, they would never go to Sky. It has enough team leaders and potential for the future. Not sure where the Schlecks would go unless there was a new team which in the current environment would be just as unlikely unless a new sponsor got involved in a big way. For the Schlecks alone, the salaries would be large. Maybe Cannondale with Basso not far off retirement ? Don't think BMC would be interested at least not before Evans retires and they seem to be getting behind TJVG in a big way and would probably rather spend money on some mountain domestiques instead although the way the Schlecks are going they could end up being mountain domestiques anyway.

Latest from Beppe Conti is once again about Sagan.
He has still a contract with his actual team until the end of 2014 but the main sponsor, Cannondale, want to register the team from italian to american; this would mean Sagan's actual contract would expire and he would need to make a new one.
So BMC is on the hunt, and according to Conti, offered him a "white check" (means he's almost free to decide his salary).

Team Sky seems to be interested in italian riders as now supposed to be chasing Diego Ulissi, as they would like to have him as one of their main riders for Giro 2014.

Oscar Gatto is in talks with Omega Pharma, for a possible contract.

6 teams interested in Costa, he prioritizes renewing with movistar but it is not certain unzue will have to money to keep him. He wants his future decided by the tour.

who could those teams be?

Movistar obviously, with valverde not getting any younger and cobo failing to deliver i think unzue will very much want to keep him to lead the team along side quintana in the future.

Saxo is the only other team that i can't think as they really needs the points and most likely tinkoff is willing to provide some extra cash, they also have 2 portuguese riders and a big spanish contingent so costa would have no problem fitting in.

the other 4 i don't know

I think a lot of teams want him, he is a really good overall rider. He can do well in the ardenne classics and he has the ability to win or get close to the win in almost all 1 week stage races.

Something different, anyone has any new info on Di Luca?

Sky don't sound happy with EBH's lack of results with his salary. If they dump him where would he end up?

Saxo Bank, where he will immediately win Flanders

.

Harmon and Brian Smith were singing his praises in the 1st stage of Pais Vasco. Now I know why.;)
Really hope he stays with Lampre. With Scarponi most likely to be gone after this year and Cunego getting older, he'll definitely be the face of Lampre.
And he should stick to being a hilly classics rider coz that is where he will have his best chances.

EBH was pivotal in Wiggo's Tour win, they can't have forgotten that. As a classics rider he's a bit disappointing, that's true. What's his salary?

Too high to be an average climbing domestique.

Cancellara/Pozzato would be an amazing combination in a tactical sense.

I agree. I also think EBH would make a great domestique for cancellara. Though his team in flanders proved that they arent as useless as the CN forum (including myself) make them out to be.

I think I remember maltiv posting that it was around the 1 million euros per year mark but I'm not sure. Sky can find a rider for a quarter of that price (probably less) to do the job EBH does in the Tour.

Well he actually brings in some results outside of the TdF. He was 6th on the CQ-ranking and 11th in the UCI-ranking for 2012 after all. Maybe Sky think that has a certain value.

Those points aren't so important to Sky as they would be for quite a few other teams. Sky needs big wins or lower cost support riders.

I think EBH should leave Sky.

Almost 2 million...

At the moment it seems to be way too high indeed, particularly since they won't let him do what he's best at, which is winning from breakaways in GTs. On any other team EBH would pretty much be a guarantee for at least 1-2 TDF stages a year. After all, when he was unleashed after Wiggins fall in 2011 he was in 3 decisive breakaways over 5 days of racing.

EBH should stop focusing on the cobbled classics, and focus on hills/climbing instead. As a u23 rider he was a puncheur/TT specialist, now he tries to be a sprinter/cobbled specialist...it makes no sense, really. He has tried and failed for 4 years and it's time to try something new.

Wow, almost 2 million, that's crazy. Sky need him to be performing like Peter Sagan to justify that (or at least close to that level in the classics). Stapleton and Brailsford have both said that he's the most impressive rider they've ever tested. On those testing numbers he should be the most outstanding cyclist in the world but he's merely a very good all round rider who doesn't have a particular area in which he's the best (or even top 5).

Why race if you know who has the best test results? There's more to cycling than just pedaling for 200 to 250 kms. Often the riders who are the best 'testers' are the ones who lack endurance. On top of that he lacks a real acceleration.

And 2 million is somewhat overpaid, but if they keep paying him like that he'll stay for sure.
