Wilba60 said:The other rumour that Shayne Bannan discusses in his interview is the move of Michael Rogers to Sky. That one has been floating around for most of the year, certainly a lot since Dauphine that Porte or Rogers may go to OGE. Bannan suggests that Rogers seems pretty happy at Sky and I am sure they will be very keen to keep him. I suppose the only 2 lures for Rogers are racing for the first Australian team and the chance of racing for himself at the Tour for a final time. Even though he was very strong at both the Dauphine and TdF it still seems that he hasn't quite got enough to win one of the big ones.
Not sure if getting Rogers would hinder or help the development of Cam Meyer. Is Weening enough to develop him as a climber?![]()
The premise of the Nieuwsblad article is that Vanmarcke has told Vaughters he will leave, why would he if he wasn't offered an extension... probably another Google translate error by Cyclingnews.JRanton said:The thing that caught my eye was that Garmin didn't even offer him an extension. Jakob Fuglsang has signed for Astana, says @Feltetdk, quoting newspaper Ekstra Bladet.
linky:
The Danish media Ekstrabladet think they know that Danish Jakob Fuglsang has signed a three-year contract with the Kazakh World Tour team Astana.
Jakob Fuglsang has been in negotiations with both Bjarne Riis of Team Saxo Bank Tinkoff Bank and Omega Pharma-Quick Step, but according to the Danish newspaper, he finally chose Astana.
I assume it's all about the money. Garmin isn't the richest team out there.greenedge said:I wonder whether/ why their relationship turned sour? I am sure Vanmarcke would have been leader for the Classics and with Van Summeren, Klier, Maaskant and Haussler he would have had a great team.

Other than Howard, my other discard would be Travis Meyer (the much lesser brother) who is beyond his level at WT level & possibly even Pro Conti
OGrady is riding on in 2013 from what I've read. I strongly disagree with what you said about Travis Meyer. He is still very young so give him a chance.dirkprovin said:My sacrifice would be Leigh Howard who has proven utterly ineffectual nay insipid in his outings this year. Guaranteed to crack a pout once things turn the slightest bit hard. Might also be somewhat of a shot across the ego of Mister Mopey aka Matthew Harley Goss who has demonstrated a similar propensity this season.
Davis is getting on but can at least bring home a few reasonable placings through a season. Keukeleire & Langeveld look to be passable prospects for races like E3, G-W & RvV.

You're joking, right?jyhjyh said:Fuglsang will be leader in TdF/Vuelta or both, Nibali leader in Giro.

It makes more sense to a fanboy. Fuglsang is not even close to a TdF material. Vincenzo must ride the Tour next year when it'll suit him even more, plus it's the Tour's 100th anniversary.Cimber said:Thats what the article says. Would make more sense if it had been Nibs in Giro and/or Tour and Fuglsang Vuelta and/or Giro
