I wonder if someone like Wiggins might be more useful the way Dowsett was or Rogers - as an insight into Sky practices. Expensive insight mind, especially if Wiggins stays unmotivated.

Hunch is Wiggins will more or less leave the road behind and concentrate on TT and team pursuit with rio in mind. 2 golds, however unlikely, would have him overtake Hoy.

I reckon Wiggo will have another shot at a grand tour probably not the Tour but with what team I'm not sure. But like Andy he will be looking for good money to change teams and not many could afford him. The alternative is to concentrate on some classics and the shorter stage races like the Dauphine and Tirreno or Paris Nice maybe TOC. Be surprised if he went back to the track unless he is totally fed up with road racing.

He should target the Tour and if he doesn't he should retire. Personal opinion. The Giro and Vuelta don't suit so much and one week races and classics, what classic has he ever been competitive in? One week races are prep for GTs, well for many folk.

Not just the money needs to be right to have him transferred to other team, but also wiggin needs strong team mates to drag him around the mountain to be able to give him a chance to win another GT.

wiggins to BMC? I can't really see that happens. Besides, I don't get why BMC keeps signing riders that only give their ROI bacj with only 3 year life span.

OGE have now announced he's signed on a 'multi year' contract (and will stagiare this year)
Will he waste time on a road team concentrating on track? Talented, but it's sad looking at a road team where the young guys take ages to come good as they are concentrating on track. Bobridge, Meyer, meyer, hepburn, durbridge(though he went road a little earlier and got results).

I think he's going to be fully road focussed. I hope so anyway, especially this far out from the Olympics, it would be a waste to spend half a season focussed on the track in prep for 2016. I think they're beginning to see this with how long delayed some of the other guys you've mentioned have been in their cross over.

So Basso to Astana is done?

That would only work if Merida took over the Lampre license.

Not to mention the major sponsors being Cannondale and Merida. I know it can't happen, but even some of the big budget teams like BMC struggle with a competitive line up for every World tour race. So the answer is obviously less teams, but stronger and deeper, or less races. So merge two weak Italian teams to make a strong one. Their combined points of between 50 and 60 riders would still place them around the opqs mark. So taking the top 28 would probably be around the BMC mark.

I would give it a 70% chance for Frank to ride for Astana next year, and andy a50 % chance for riding there. Nibali will go for the tour next year, so Andy to ride Giro tigheter with Aru would be a dream come true :):)

A source? (not because I don't believe you, but because I am quite interested in seeing additional Danish talents at Saxo)

He could better stay at Belkin, zero support at Argos with their sprint focus.
I think Argos are trying to sign some proper climbers for next year. And they have also some young riders who are supposed to be good climbers in the future.

I've read that they're interested in Stetina. The fact they're completely invisible in mountain this year doesn't mean they can't be a good option for some climbers for next year.

Okay, but they state all the time that they want to be the number 1 sprint train and we saw that combining sprint and GC is very difficult.

Argos is also interested in Van Keirsbulck and Devenyns according to Gazet van Antwerpen
