Vaughters in love with Andre Cardoso :D

"Keeping my eye on Andre Cardoso in the Vuelta. Seems like an under appreciated climbing talent that could use a good home...."

"Very excited to see @ACardoso84 get 5th on the stage in the Vuelta today."

Someone should tell him that Cardoso was in the break of the day, or he'll think he has signed some kind of super climber

Can't really see the logic of the move, unless they just fancy a bit of sun?

Orica are packed out with fast men and will probably give preference to young Aussies

Sky are fairly thin on the ground for fast men, and would probably give preference to young Brits

Seems a bit upside-down to me?

Fact is, they are not fast men i.e. sprinters at all.

Adam is a stage racer ( 2nd in GC Avenir and constantly best performer there in moutains bar the stage Fernandez took )

Simon has a good finish, yes, however he sees himself more of a punchy rider that can sprint, ala Gilbert.

So he'll likely be third in the priority list of punchy riders called Simon if he goes to Orica!

They will likely only be signing two year contracts and it's not as if they would be leading Sky or any other world tour team in hilly races at this early point in their career anyway. It's far more about development for them at this stage. And if they've learnt anything about Sky it's that they don't develop 'punchy' riders very well at all so good luck to them if they're looking elsewhere.

Unlike then he would lead at Sky far easier  :D

Anyway, chances to lead at OGE are higher at his age than at Sky either way. And it's about development for now, then leading.

Bah I'm glad he's out of Portugal for good unlike Ricardo Mestre who seems to be back to lead that great team called Efapel. I can only hope Machado, Oliveira and Pires can stay away too, even on Professional Teams. The portuguese scene has a really low level now.
