Ewan will be more like McEwen in his early years than a puncheur - a versatile sprinter with good top speed, similar to Degenkolb. Cort on the other hand may end up being very similar to Matthews. Cort looks like a massive talent but do wonder at the decision considering who OGE already have.

Edit: Now I think about it, how long does Impey have left on his contract? Cort would be a more than suitable replacement if he leaves and if he doesn't, someone will have to replace Gerrans and Albasini eventually.

I don't know much about Caleb Ewan except I have heard that he is Cadel Evans' son. To tell you the truth I find Cable Ewnas more talented and also Cabel Awneas is an interesting prospect. As I understand it both are also sons of Cadel Evans and his wife, Cadella.

Aa mentioned before, Cort is not someone who hides and waits for the finish line, ie not a sprinter, ie not like Matthews.

UCI points and publicity.

uci points for what? I don't remember any team getting publicity or even mentioning them winning the wt standings. finishing top ten in a gt also doesn't get you any publicity except maybe the tour where every fart gets you publicity

lol no major team cares about any rider finishing 4th or 6th. maybe some team like europcar but even that is doubtful

how come Mollena and Jurgen VDB are getting big contracts after their Vuelta and Tour performances in the past years?

getting top 10 at the Tour is vital for any team and their sponsors

It's seems the kazah and the italian sides of Astana are splitting

mmmm, maybe they can solve the problems. the contracts are signed anyway.
but would be nice to see Nibali back to Cannondale (if they still exist in 2015) or Katusha.
well, even nicer to Sky (but it will not happen) just to see The Shark fans get hydrophobic :D

That would be a disaster for Astana as they don't have any Slav riders that can win a GT. Take out Nibali and Aru they have no one for GTs.

Talansky aimed by Trek, news?
It seems he is being approached by all major English-speaking teams ATM.

I seriously hope he stays at Garmin but I don't think they can compete financially with some other teams in the peleton. Well, there is hope he won't go to Sky because of uncertain leadership, but at BMC they can probably offer him leadership for any race he wants and that's worrying.

because they are national riders for a national team almost. in belgium and netherlands cycling is a big so having any gc rider will make you a lot of money.

they can easily buy riders, which the italian side can't as they don't have a sponsor

Not a dangerous bet. :p
Reading between the lines during the Giro, it's 99 % certain, that Alonso team won't happen for 2015.

who cares about finishing 4th or 6th in a gt. I ask you now. who finished 4th in 2008 tour? do you know? only podiums and wins matter and more importantly stage wins

Of course not. If you are visible in the Tour, you're an asset. Winning a stage is one way, but consistently battling with the best, being one of the few riders to stay in the front group in the mountains, is another way. Most people who regularly watch the Tour will have heard of, say, Kreuziger (5th in GC). How many know Matteo Trentin (stage winner)?

Van Asbroeck deserves to be in WT as he constantly places high and can win some of the smaller one-day races. He can also be useful as a classics contender, although Van Bilsen is even more promising in that aspect I think. I don't know if Vantomme will succeed at WT level but he also has some great results.

If Cannondale will go Belgian-continental-riders-shopping they should also buy Sebastien Delfosse I think. He has animated every race I've seen him in this year and you don't get 5th in the 4 jours de Dunkerque by being a bad rider.

Beppe news:

- Alonso should have some news for 15th July, the first rest day of Tour de France; there could be finally a sponsor from Dubai and news about possible riders including a chase to Contador.
- Cannondale (company) is not willing to lose Sagan and there's talks for a possible fusion with Tinkoff-Saxo.
- BMC tried to sign Rui Costa but Lampre was able to renew for 1 more year.
- BMC trying to get new younger riders and is close to sign Manuel Bongiorno.
- Omega Pharma is trying to get Sonny Colbrelli who would have a leader role in smaller classics.
- Scarponi seems set to leave Astana for a possible return to Lampre.
- Nibali situation with Astana seems to be not very quite, especially after Vino letter plus the up and coming Aru, and the situation might be more clear after the Tour.
