that would be bad for what?

Butterhead said:Riis is interested in signing Magnus Cort for 2015, but again, who isn´t.
Garmin tried to lure him with a contract last year but he very maturely decided to take another year as continental rider.
I think Riis have a good chance, Cort´s very good friend and former room mate Michael Valgren signed a 3 year contract with Riis last year and loves it on the team, so I would say its just formalia and the signing a reality, I would love to see him on the pro tour.

As for where, well... something tells me he'll have a lot of options to choose from.
Didn't Cort attend the Giant-Shimano winter camp?Butterhead said:I´m sure he will be, 99,99% sounds about right.
Skelde always had a very good relationship to Riis, and if Riis want´s Cort then I have no doubt it´s the direction Skelde will push him at as well, and also because it would probably be the best place for him, he can move to Valgren and Chris in Toscana and the support he would get from Lombardi and others are invaluable.
We have seen how well planed programs the young guns had on Tinkoff so far, I can´t see any other team who could do it better.
My bet would be 80/20 he ends up with Riis, IF Riis is still part of the team of course.

SafeBet said:Isn't Aru signed through 2015?
They did. Means Aru feels well a Astana and only an *insane* bid might be accepted by both Astana and Aru.Butterhead said:Didnt Astana sign him for 3 years onto 2016?

Contract negotiations by media. Riders and their agents do it, why not team managers?Butterhead said:Apropos bids, now it seems Riis again denies to pay top dollar for the stars, now he say just because it´s Olegs money they are trying to push the price up, and he´s in contact with a lot of riders he says.

Dazed and Confused said:Interesting development with Thomas if this is the case.
Seems to leave a little hole in Sky's cobbles team. Stannard and maybe Sir Wiggo? Ebh?
