yep, good rider for Bora and Thwaites will get plenty of opportunities.

Looks like he has gone with the guidance of his advisers...to stay in the second tier. With a good PC team he should get some big races anyway. He may have had more Kudos and a bit more cash in a WT team, but would in all probability have gone the way of many other young riders and become invisible.

Has the talent...just needs the team to give him a freer role more often.

Who else leaves Europcar?

They still have Voeckler and Sicard

Bjorn Thurau, Natnael Berhane and Davide Malacarne are leaving and Voecler, IMO, is declining in quality.

They still have Rolland and Coquard but I think they don't have depth in their squad.

Not the best riders leaving imo, Voeckler had his share of bad luck this year but is indeed aging a bit

Rolland, Coquard & Sicard might do the job....

Anybody else surprised that Cataldo has left for Astana?

Thought with the whole Sky Italia link that he would be kept.

24 riders confirmed.

6 waiting on new deals or moves to be confirmed:

Dombrowski
Edmondson
Knees
Pate
Stannard
Sutton

Brailsford said he was in talks with 2 more riders. So who leaves? Dombro to Garmin?

That and Zandio is rumoured to be retiring. Also on the Sky Italia thing Colbrelli and Viviani are the rumoured riders that Dave was talking about.

If they get Viviani and Colbrelli that will more than make up for it in terms of profile in Italy.

Stannard signed an extension with Sky last year. I'd be surprised if it was only a one year deal for 2014.

I'm sure I read an article not long ago that confirmed Pate had a contract with Sky for 2015. Here it is: http://velonews.competitor.com/2014...pate-keeps-pushing_337595#FSdZPioaEgA80B2x.99

Pate said he wasn’t sure of what the rest of 2014 will bring, but he’s already set for next season, with one more year remaining on his contract with Team Sky.

“I am no Chris Horner,” he said with a laugh, referring to his 42-year-old compatriot. “I still have fun racing.”

And then who do they get rid off at the end of 2015 when Yates, Yates, Geoghegan Hart and Cavendish arrive?

Will Dan Martin and the Yates twins ever join Team Sky?

They have no sporting reason to do so in the near future. Sky wouldn't be able to offer any of them the leadership opportunities they get now and Garmin can give Martin top rate support for hilly classics.

If the money on offer is nuts though that could change things.
