Erik Baska to Tinkoff.

A little bit of a surprise, I thought that they'd sign a veteran to improve their classics team, Gatto would have been perfect for them.

Not surprised at all. Oleg has said recently. He wants to build for the future and get younger riders and develop them. Baska is also Slovak. Which means he can ride/learn a lot from Sagan. To me as a Tinkoff fan. They are showing me they are building and looking for a solid future. After Alberto is retired. We have Sagan. Now Majka has been taking big steps in the past 2 seasons. Future looks bright...IMHO

This can also look like he's not really investing into any expensive riders and is ready to pull the plug in the near future.

Skuijns rumoured to BMC, Glenn O'Shea rumoured to ONE.

Or he'll be Cannondale's 29th and final rider, according to Dutch site Wielerflits.

(Skuijns that is)

They do not give a source, so we'll have to wait for confirmation on that. Also in a twitter conversation between Vaughters and PCS it seems that Bauer has extended his contract. But not sure how official this all is.

Enrique Sanz will hear at the end of the week if he continues with Movistar.

Nothing as valuable as top-5 placings in smal *** races!!

I think we're being a bit harsh on him, just for the fact that he's Unzue's nephew. He had a lot of top 10 results, which is better than a lot of other riders at WT level and he also does domestique work.

Nobody is being harsh on him as he just isn't upto WT level, he has bagged some top 10 in small races so thats the type of team he should be on, he's only stayed WT or was even given a chance of WT because of who he was related too. Not being harsh but just being honest, can't be good for a riders confidence in himself to be a whipping boy all the time

He's no Juraj Sagan but he doesn't belong at Movistar either.

I'm not saying that he belongs to the WT, especially that the spots are really expensive at this level, even more when we talk about Movistar, the only Spanish outfit at this level. I was just saying that he's better than many others, also riding in the top tier teams.

O'Shea ?? Not sure what they can see in him ?? First and foremost, at least half of next season is likely to be taken up with track commitments as he is almost certain to be AUS representative in the omnium although one prays to whatever deity may listen that he is NOT co-opted into the team's pursuit as he just hasn't the engine and is tailed off before half-way (as was the case in London).

He has had two short stints with An Post in 2013 & 2014 with his only results of note having been a stage win and 3rd overall at Ronde de l'Oise and 6th at Ronde van Limburg in 2013 and an 8th at 2014 Herald Sun Tour. He did have a stagiare slot at Garmin in 2013 but they clearly "passed" on him.

He's going on 26 and has zero road results this year. Am curious as to their thinking

Gatto has already re-signed with Androni. And there are very few classics riders left.

Maybe Leukemans?

Leukemans would boost any team. Too bad that sports directors seem to care about the age thing. He is still very good. Bad luck in the Flanders prevented him from a safe top 10.

I would have liked to see him on a team with no real strong classics riders like Movistar, FDJ or Lampre.

So Direct Energie is confirmed with 21 riders
http://www.biciciclismo.com/es/direct-energie-con-21-ciclistas-confirmados-21-10-2015
The team goes down from 26 to 21, with Duchesne being the only non-french rider.
I don't know how Bernaudeau was considering to step up to WT, maybe because he was expecting a bigger sponsor. They lost Rolland and Gautier, their 2 most solid riders, now they have again Voeckler and Chavanel, Sicard who never lived up to the expectations, the same for the new recruit Petit. At least they managed to keep Coquard with them, Jeandesboz is also a decent climber. Otherwise it's an average PCT team.
