This isn't a rumour. But Eisel to Cavendish? His contract is up this year isn't it?

interesting. I thought Eisel is enjoying to be a player in sky classic team rather than the last train to pull cavendish? isn't that why he didn't follow cav to Ettix?

Not happening unless they both join some other team. I think Tinkov is looking for somebody who can win a few races :D

Just wait until Contador fails to win Giro (and tour) and then we will see some real craziness on the transfer scene ... especially if Tinkov decides to pull the plug

Kennaugh leaving Sky would be good: he deserves more than a career of bot-dom. Not sure where he will be a protected rider though. Trek and Katusha are good teams where he would be able to co-lead in the Ardennes and have a genuine push for GC in stage races. Alternatively Garmindale could replace Martin with him (not that they're equally talented (yet)), or IAM might find the budget to refresh their team.

I really hope Kennaugh stays with Sky, but I also agree with your point that he deserves more than I minor dom role. It's difficult when Sky have climbers like Froome, Porte, Henao, Nieve, Konig, Roche and even an improved Thomas but there are still races for him to win.

he won't be anything more than a helper at any other team either unless he joins united healthcare and never races again

After yesterday's presentation of Tour de Pologne Michał Kwiatkowski spoke with journalists. Asked about the talks with other teams and possibility of changing the jerseys after this season he answered that he'd be happy to stay in current team. However, his manager is talking with other teams as it would be foolish to ignore other options. In Etixx, he said, he's making progress and feeling very good.

Kennaugh needs to trains as a one day racer imo ...he is talented and could in the right circumstances win 1 days classics..not really SKY's forte

How's about to IAM ...CHAVA must be near retirement

But I cannot see Kennaugh leaving SKY as all his long term mates are there and they have a very good set up....depends on how ambitious he is

Nah, he has said that he will continue until he is 40. And what have Kennaugh to do with Chavanel? They have nothing in common and can co-exist on the same team.

And Kennaugh is not a one-day racer. He has never been that good on steep short hills. He is much better in the real mountains. With the right team behind he could win a one-week race. Tour of California for example.

Which is exactly what he's aiming for this year. Not sure winning one non-WT-but-respectable week long race per year is quite his full potential though.

Sky know how good he could be, prior to signing Wiggo the plan was to sign a Contador, Nibali or Sastre and have Pete learn from them.

cycling podcast says kwiatkowski wants 4mm euro in his new contract...lefevere has no additional money and with omega pharma acquired, unless marc couke sponsors the team out of his own pocket, theyre going to have sponsor issues soon.

friebe said cav will take a 500k euro pay cut to stay at etixx. pretty amazing how much friebe shared considering he's friendly with these riders.

they said kwiatkowski most likely goes to sky.

I think Kwaitkowski could go to TInkoff. One of the most Polish WT teams. They already have Majka and Poljanski there and could use a real puncheur for the hilly classics. If Kreuziger, most of the danes and maybe even Contador is out in next season, he would most likely invest in some other heavy weight riders.

wouldn't surprise me poland will soon get a big wt team. I've been to poland and it's always been noticed by me how popular cyclingt is there. als as an amateur sport and I imagine now with stars like kwiatkowski and majka it's off the roof.

Aru extends with Astana until end of 2017. Happy days :)

Wow, ain't saw that coming! I was pretty sure Aru would have been off to Sky next season!

Well, as long as Astana finally has it's license issues sorted out and Martinelli takes over more control this is great news. Aru can built his own team around him at Astana, with all his Italian fellows, coaches etc. :)

yep, Sky or Tinkoff (if he splashes the money)

speaking about Contador, he has a contract with Tinkoff for 2016 too, he signed this winter.

I think the SKY team is smart for not renewing Porte's contract now as they will most likely get a big discount after he fails once again to deliver on the high expectations from the Giro. And, if somehow, he manages to win the Giro, (1% chance) they will let him go as he will be too expensive ...

Wouldn't it be difficult to find a sponsor who can guarantee the money and security? Maybe the best chance is CCC stepping up to WT, but they would probably need an additional sponsor, wouldn't they?

Rob Hatch casually mentioned yesterday that CCC were one of the better funded Pro-Conti teams. Probably not much needed to make the step up But Kwiatkowski would be way too expensive for them i would have thought.

Agreed. I think it's a good idea to see where the chips fall. If he can really match Contador for three weeks then he's better off switching teams (as close as Porte and Froome are, I don't think Sky would want two riders with Tour aspirations again either - and don't forget Froome is actually the younger one). If he falters again they'd probably get a bit of a discount or at least go into the deal with a better sense of Porte's role going forward.
