Talking of Trek, PCS have stated that Calvin Watson hasn't been offered a contract extension and will be leaving the team. No surprise really.

back home with Budget Forklift or similar (like Gossy should do)?
More likely Avanti or Drapac. A little disappointed that he didn't get another year, Watson didn't set the world on fire but he wasn't out of his depth either. Someone will grab him.

Perhaps an unwise choice of teams. Avanti would be a major drop; essentially back to domestic racing. Drapac has had a better race calendar this year but are still close to the lowest ranked Pro Conti team in the world.

Maybe he can get back to WT level but I'm not seeing any clear cut opportunities at the moment. Could it be worth his while looking at North America ?

North America could be a good choice, maybe a team like UHC? Drapac are still on the improve, despite losing Wippert they look better overall again, and should keep improving with invites.

Avanti and Budget Forklifts have made no secret of their ambitions to improve, especially Avanti, who have (or at least had) long term plans to go Pro Conti. They'd just need to retain a few of the riders that they've been producing. The Avanti brand is looking to expand as well, and a larger team will only help them sell more bikes.

After the announcements of renewals at Movistar it seems almost clear (if his racing schedule since Suisse hadn't tell us that) that Antón is leaving Movistar.

What's next for him? Caja Rural? Or maybe Murias if they step up onto ContiPro?

Is there any real plan to do so?

Odriozola said a few days ago that the budget for the existence of the team in 2016 is secure and that they are now in talks with several sponsors to improve their budget to be ContiPro. They want to step up this year but it's all dependant of the will of the basque sponsors.

Alex is our 1st signing. Can you guess our 6 others? Enter using #TeamSky2016 & you could win a custom 2016 jersey!

I expect Peters, Landa, Moscon, Kwiatkowski, Golas, Intxausti and D. Van Poppel.

Biciclismo announces 25 riders for Movistar in the next season, including Oliveira and Betancur. Movistar is done for the upcoming season.

I think they're saying that Oliveira although not signed, is sure to join and for Betancur, nothing is official but he also should be joining.

The article actually states that Oliveira is all but secured, Betancur is very certain and even though Unzué stated that he only wants 25 riders, the chance that he will - just like in recent years - go over this limit is there. For example for Valls or his nephew, Enrique Sanz.

There's a rumour Marko Kump will ride for Sky next season. Nothing certain, only a rumour for now.

Kump has an agreement with a new team for next season, but it's not Sky. He doesn't tell the name but it's a WT team most likely.

I'm sick of them carrying Sanz. He's had enough years for his WT "career." Let him go to some smaller team. Spots are too important at the only Spanish WT team, which also needs a Latin American contingent, plus a few English-speakers/German for the various sponsors.

Why the hate for Sanz? Just because he's a sprinter? If Movistar wants to get rid of underperfomers, they should look at Ventoso, Dayer Quintana, Sutherland.

So that means a minimum of 4 riders are leaving Sky (not including Porte).

Riders who haven't been confirmed as having contracts with Sky for 2016:

Earle, Eisel, Fenn, Sebastian Henao, Kennaugh, Kiryienka, Knees, Nordhaug, Pate, Siutsou, Stannard, Sutton, Viviani, Zandio.

Sutherland already had a contract for 2016 but he'll have to improve considerably to earn an extension for 2017.

Because Sanz isn't really WT quality and takes up a spot that could go to some young up-and-comer, who might improve with the experience. Or his spot could go to someone who will be better helper for Lobato. Sanz has had his chance, and could do similar performances in the sort of races that a smaller team gets to ride.

Ventoso doesn't really sprint anymore. He spent the last 2 years remaking himself into a domestique. This work is why Nairo asked Unzue to hire him back last year - which was after they'd cut Ventoso but kept Sanz.

Dayer has reasonable ability to win some quality races. He's a bit more than a guy who's only there for family connections.

Rory is a quality domestique who just wasn't used properly this year. They need to take him to the Tour instead of Dowsett, who is very talented, but really doesn't need to risk the inevitable monster crashfest that is the Tour, not with his health issues. Rory did solid work for Contador at Tinkoff, and can be a solid dom in the right terrain.

The role they really need to replace is that of Pablo Lastras, but that's no easy task.

MatParker, JRanton, b. broadhurst et al., don't mean to be rude but would it be a good idea to start a Team Sky thread in which you can discuss GT teams, potential signings, which riders are leaving etc., again I don't mean to offend but a lot of posts in this thread about Sky are pretty superfluous and in other threads you and several others discuss potential Team Sky GT teams quite often. You lot discuss Sky's team and riders way more than fans of other teams discuss theirs. I have no issue with you chatting about this, I understand fans of the team find this interesting and a fun activity in their spare time - I myself use twitter for those kind of brainwaves - but I think it would be better to put it into a seperate thread. :) Cheers
And again this is in no way a personal attack, while I think the discussions can be a bit boring at times (as you know I am not really interested in Team Sky) I love your passion :)

My guess on those leaving would be:

Earle, Pate, Zandio, Eisel

I like all of those signings. Golas is only a domestique of course (and Kwiat's best mate) but they'll probably need someone like that given the likely departures.

Man stop talking about Sky transfers in the transfers thread. You know you aren't allowed to
Nice transfers, but i'm curious if guys like Kwiatkowski or Landa will adapt fast enough to deliver even from the start.
