Transfers and Rumours 2015 > 2016

The sheer load of great riders at Etixx - Quick-Step makes it hard for them to really support a guy for the GC. They are interested in cobbles, sprints, hills and time trials. Also track and CX during the winter. That only leaves room for 4-5 true domestiques for a climber. Not enough theses days to win a GT since the implementation of the Sky-train.

But I am not so certain Uran will leave the squad at the end of the year. They just signed two new Colombians with Gaviria and Contreras. Maybe to persuade him to stay. Yes, it is hard to win a GT at Quickstep, but Uran is not one of the big favourites anyway. He is a rider like Sastre. Pretty good, but never the greatest. Maybe he will win big one day, but even with the best support it would be difficult for him.

Yeah glad he's finally got something sorted. Shame there won't be too many mountains featuring in his season but at least he'll be able to ride the tour of britian, yorkshire and ride london. An post's website has l'avenir and the u23 classics listed as races the are can competing in. will Edmondson be eligible for them then?

Rumours:

Kristoff has been linked to Etixx and Sky but he will almost certain extend his contract with Katusha.

Sky is also interested in Italian talent, Gianni Moscon.

(can we get this sticky?)

if Kristoff signs again for KAtusha (minimun 2 years) it means Katusha will still be there in 2017 (all contracts end in 2016 at the moment)

Moscon races for Zalf-Fior U23 team, Pinarello is one of the partners (links to Sky)

Deal done then.

Rumours from the Cycling Podcast:

Kwiatkowski to Sky

Kennaugh to BMC

Sky have now offloaded both EBH and Wiggins' salaries so I do expect them to make a big signing. Could depend on what Porte decides to do though.
I hope none of that happens... At all... Ever...
In my lifetime anyway. Sky will ruin Kwaito and BMC wont give Kennaugh a chance.

Any speculation on the unnamed team for Kwia? BMC would seem to have the money, Cannondale Garmin might want to sign a star, Trek might want someone for the Ardennes, CCC might step up to the WT?

To Trek? YES PLEASE!!!! To bad their awful coaching and tatics (other than DS Demol) would ruin him. Just awful this year.

I don't think Cannondale have money to compete for signings like that. Unless they're losing Dan Martin and few others at the end of the year.

Kennaugh leaving Sky would be good: he deserves more than a career of bot-dom. Not sure where he will be a protected rider though. Trek and Katusha are good teams where he would be able to co-lead in the Ardennes and have a genuine push for GC in stage races. Alternatively Garmindale could replace Martin with him (not that they're equally talented (yet)), or IAM might find the budget to refresh their team.
