mientras que el británico de 22 años Hugh Carthy, uno de los jóvenes más prometedores del panorama mundial, va a cambiar los colores del Caja Rural por los de un equipo de categoría ProTour, el Cannondale, donde podrá competir al máximo nivel.
Just realised Carthy is only 22. For some reason I thought he was 24 (maybe I've already confused him with Canty, as I suggested in other thread). Even better for Cannondale! :D

He is the only rider I can find that has lower BMI than mine according to procyclingstats data. I think I already know what will CheckMyPecs say every time Hugh underperforms.

Kreuziger to orica

Profoundly odd signing. OBE are now going to have GT teams packed with riders who think they should be protected and very little chance in any of the classics. (I don't rate Matthews very highly).
I agree, RK has voiced his desire to be THE TdF GC guy on a team
Where? When? He never said that. On the contrary he said that it is not his term to lead GT.

I am not saying you are hater, but I've met so much of his haters (here and elsewhere) that I'm always suspicious now.

Rabobank/Lotto Jumbo is generally pretty clueless when it comes to signing riders. They have the same budget as the Belgian Lotto team yet their results are far worse.
the listed bugets are not correct. Half of the money Lotto has is used on the speed skating team (with Sven Kramer). So they have actually half the budget of Lotto BE

Majka would be a good fit for Katusha. He could be the protected rider for the Giro and Zakarin domestique on the TdF (besides going for his own ambitions on selected stages). Tony Martin is also rumoured to join Katusha.

On the other hand, Lotto Jumbo signing Lobato does not make any sense.

More like a potential vuelta-stage and San-Remo winner, Hofland is to light and Groenewegen to young and heavy

I am not saying you are hater, but I've met so much of his haters (here and elsewhere) that I'm always suspicious now.
This spring when he was asked about his team search since Tinkles was moving on he said that he would like to be a GT GC leader. Once he signed his new contract he said how much he looks forward to helping the young guns in GT while getting his chances at one week SRs and Classics.

“ORICA-BikeExchange was an easy choice for me when I started to consider my next team and my future as a rider,” Kreuziger said. “I really admire the ambitions they have going onwards, and I want to fully apply myself to help their young riders go for the ultimate success in the Grand Tours.”

“I think I’ll be able to fulfill that role both on and off the bike and at the same time try and go for a win myself in one-week races and some of the Classics where we will have several cards to play.

“I’m very thankful for being able to join one of the most promising and well respected teams in the peloton where I will also be part of what looks to be a fun environment to work in.”

I'm not a hater, in fact I hope that he thrives at O-BE. I did hate on him a bit during the TdF when he was being a fibber.

Majka saif that he was trageting 2017 Tour ....so Zakarin for Giro I suppose
Majka is no substitute for Purito though

Oh yeah, good point! Well than it makes perfect sense actually. LottoNL could do what Argos did with Degenkolb at the Vuelta some years ago. He's one of the better sprinters on that terrain based on his Ruta del Sol victories.

That way they can easily file Gesink and Kelderman as Giro domestiques for Kruijswijk with a chance to ride for themselves at the Tour later on. Stage wins rather than gc like Rabobank used to do with Dekker, Boogerd and Wauters back in the day.

Which means with 1-2 marquee signings (One climber like Pantano plus Clement) they'd be able to form a decent support group for Kruijswijk to tackle the Giro against Astana and Bahrein, with still some options for the Tour and the Vuelta!

That should pay off actually. At least for Kruijswijk at the Giro and likely with Lobato at the Vuelta. The Tour with Gesink (& Kelderman) has been a disaster most of the time anyway so there ain't nothing to lose. But Kruijswijk's their new big starlets, he targets the Giro and Bianchi is a Swedish enterprise with Italian roots. So Lotto should absolutely put their main focus on the Tour of Italy and force Gesink and Kelderman to ride there strongly as super-domestiques. Add a few stage wins from Groenenwegen in smaller races to the likely ones of Lobato at the Vuelta and RdS and for their budget LottoNL is quite easily having a great season once again as long as Kruijswijk delivers at least a podium finish in the Giro!

Exactly. Majka is going to the team that will let him lead in the Tour. He is not suited for Giro at all.

Rip Carthy's career.
That's a bit too harsh, it's his first WT team and they managed to get a talented pure climber like Dombrowski back on track, a young pure climber siging with Sky would probably worry me even more. I don't think that riding 2 years for them will ruin his career, it's a good way to start racing at WT level.

Although it might be easier for Cartht since he is stronger and older than Mohoric was, but Mohoric wasn't too happy with the way he had to train in Cannondale.

On a more related note to the transfer season, I and some others I know wouldn't be too surprised if Brajkovic ended in Bahrain team.

What makes you think any WT squad would be interested in Brajkovic?

Where have you read that? I suspect that's some misunderstanding. I am not aware of it though I follow him closely. On the contrary I remember him saying that it is not his condition to lead GT in new team.

According to 'Het Nieuwsblad' Lars Boom will join Lotto Jumbo and Vanmarcke will go to one of the following 5 teams: Bahrain, Astana, Orica, Cannondale or Dimension Data.

Vanmarcke to DD would be interesting. Him and EBH would be a genuine threat

Is there any rumors regarding the future of Paolini? He can ride from the begging of next season, so if he doesn't retire, several teams (like Bora) should be interested in him.

What's with Valgren and Hansen? I guess they like Soviet dictators.

it's all good
as per twitter, it seemed the only important thing was they would not sign for Sky. any other team was fine

Valgren said that he had offers from Sky and BMC, but he chose Astana since he would get a cahnce to ride his own chance there. He said that he has now worked his as off for Contador for a few years and that he would get the same role had he chosen Sky or BMC, and he is fed up with that by now
