Possibly of limited interest, but a couple of rumours from the women's side, both involving Rabo riders: Niewiadoma to Liv-Plantur and Ferrand-Prevot to Wiggle-High 5. Big transfers if they happen.
Rabo seems to be losing all their top riders lately, just keeping Vos.

According to AD Lotto Jumbo signed Lobato for two years.

This is a very weird signing.

Kruiswijk did want some more help in the mountains no?

Isn't Lobato a sprinter?

Since when is Lobato a climber?
If this is the "help" he was promised, Kruijswijk needs to run away as fast as he can.

Kreuziger to orica

Profoundly odd signing. OBE are now going to have GT teams packed with riders who think they should be protected and very little chance in any of the classics. (I don't rate Matthews very highly).

Matthews is gone so he doesn't come into calculations, they have yet to announce if they've taken up the option for Gerrans in 2017 so if they do I'd suspect he gets a downgraded role. As to Kreuziger he won't be protected at a GT as he said that he'll be a domestique for GT's and will target the Ardennes races which makes sense

Well, if that's genuinely what he'll do, good for him. Nice to see riders focus on classics.

Rabobank/Lotto Jumbo is generally pretty clueless when it comes to signing riders. They have the same budget as the Belgian Lotto team yet their results are far worse.

lol, that is why most of their wins this season came from the new signings? Roglic, Groenewegen and Campenaerts?

And far worse is also an overstatement. Please don't let your hate for Lotto Jumbo cloud your objectivity.

well, Battaglin was Kruijswijks best dom in Giro, no reason to believe Lobato could be atleast as good :p

10 WT wins vs 1 WT win.

Lotto >>> LottoNl cannot be denied imo.

Yeah, it's not even close. The strange thing here though is that results probably flatter Lotto-Jumbo rather than the other way round. They have excellent riders who never look close to winning anything. They're notably improving on the cobbles, to be fair.

I said it was an overstatement :). Of course Lotto Bel has a lot more people who can win, this is cause their focus is more with one day races instead of the stage racing of Lotto NL. Before the Tour and Poland they were more or less equal in the WT ranking.

But in wins and cq points, i know Lotto Soudal will probably win all the time.

I agree, RK has voiced his desire to be THE TdF GC guy on a team, but signs with a team that is developing a very talented young GC guys (less than a minute from the win at GdI and ~20 seconds off the box at TdF). RK can ride well in the hilly spring races, but so can the Y brothers. I guess we'll see...

No. Kreuziger said that he was not looking for a team where he would be absolute leader and that he'd have no problem working for someone else but that he's to young to be a domestique full time so he hopes that in some races he would get a chance to go for his own results. Those races most likely are Liege, Tour de Suisse, Romandie.. Which is exactly what he'll be able to do at Orica.

He said during TdF when asked about his future and just read the article on the Orica teamsite and he basically says the exact same there.

He said during TdF when asked about his future and just read the article on the Orica teamsite and he basically says the exact same there.
After he signed a nice new contract he said:
“ORICA-BikeExchange was an easy choice for me when I started to consider my next team and my future as a rider,” Kreuziger said. “I really admire the ambitions they have going onwards, and I want to fully apply myself to help their young riders go for the ultimate success in the Grand Tours.”

“I think I’ll be able to fulfill that role both on and off the bike and at the same time try and go for a win myself in one-week races and some of the Classics where we will have several cards to play.

“I’m very thankful for being able to join one of the most promising and well respected teams in the peloton where I will also be part of what looks to be a fun environment to work in.”

I hope that is how he truly feels now because IMO he is a solid racer for "one week races and some classics", as well as "help(ing) the young riders in GTs".
