Chinese Lampre have it basically sewn up, it's now really Bora, Bahrain and DD fighting for those two spots. I think Bira should get it without too much bother so Bahrain vs DD.

Unless the UCI does a backflip and decides to have 18 teams for 2017 and then drop down to 16 in 2018. Bora/Sagan are safe, they want the Chinese money so Lampre are safe, they want the Bahrain money so I reckon they are safe and Di Data have Brian Cookson's son on staff so thats got to give them some chance to survive :D

Apparently Navardauskas is also joining Bahrain-Merida
It would be kind of (negative) surprise for me. I've always had the impression that he was getting along with Vaughters really well and he was the one who I always estimated to be more likely to stay than riders like Formolo. It will be strange to see him in a team other than the one managed by Slipstream Sports but perhaps it is time for change, just like it was for Dan Martin.

Definetely a loss but if I was to chose between him and Vanmarcke, the choice would be rather obvious.

Rebellin is the JLo of cycling and still rocks like it was still 1996!

Horner looks like he's done. His Tour of Utah performance was kinda poor. He should focus on becoming a commentator instead.
His agent said that he has resolved the long standing lung infection that seems to have hampered his performances in the last couple of years.

Does anyone know anything about Pozzovivo for next season?
Guess he eventually even might stay at Ag2r as Bardet rides the Giro in 2017. So Pozzo goes for gc or polka dot at the Tour. Either that or he receives a big paycheck from TJ Sports or Bahrein. They've already signed worse riders than Pozzovivo to be honest.

Would fit to both Lampre and Bahrein. Nibali is lacking mountain domestiques while Lampre should would be glad to pick GC rider from Italy I guess.

Regarding Ag2r even if Bardet really aims for Giro next year then there is still Latour, Frank and Vuillermoz. No place for Pozzo to aim for GC at Tour I think.

I suggest all of those would primarily be at the Giro as well to match up with Astana in that case.

Bora just confirmed the signing of Rafal Majka and Pawel Poljanski.

Nice! Now they just need a GT rider. One that attacks at least.
Perhaps one for the Giro, but for the Tour KoM and Green are enough, no need for GC. Majka will probably ride the Vuelta for GC, I think.

Majka already said he is riding the Tour next year for GC
What a shame. I hope he'll change his mind and take the dots (and stage wins) again.
With the news of König, it'll be interesting to see if Majka indeed will go for Tour KoM and Vuelta GC.

He's already confirmed that he's leaving AG2r so I highly doubt that changes now, as most people around here I think he'll end up at either TJ Sports Lampre or the horrible Bahrain

Three-year contract for Leopold König with Bora and the leader role for the next Tour guaranteed.

Weakens the Sky train somewhat in the mountains. He could be top 5 but not yet a GT winner. Would be happily surprised if he gets top 3 -- I like to see domestiques succeed on their own. I can see why he signed with Sky but with Bora on the WT, probably a more comfortable fit.

How does König leaving weaken the Sky train? He rode the Tour in 2015 but wasn't ever really part of the A team and surely this season showed others were rated higher.
I do find it interesting that Bora gave him a 3 year deal, guess they are pretty confident they'll be a long term top level team
