Any rumours about Marcato? He's one of those guys that Bora should try to sign, he'd be a great superdomestique for Sagan inthe spring classics.
Sagan doesn't need this kind of quality domestique(definitely not super) because he has plenty already in Bora team.Marcato was his domestique before and done nothing.Waste of money and place in team.

Yeah, he's already got Barta, Archbold, Dempster, Voss, Buchmann, Nerz, Burghardt etc. They are all good enough to help Sagan out in most of his main targets. Word is that McCarthy is moving to Bora with Sagan as well, so he should be right for support next year.

According to La Gazetta Dani Moreno to Bahrein team and Sergio Henao to Dimension Data.

Henao to Dimension Data would be a gamechanger in the WT battle.

If you add the WT points of Henao to their current total and do the same for other teams, Lotto Soudal would be last... And what about teams like Astana and LottoNL who are losing their main source of points (Nibali & Vanmarcke)?

“The 16 highest-placed UCI WorldTeams on the 2016 UCI WorldTour ranking at the end of the final UCI WorldTour event of the 2016 season will be considered to have automatically satisfied the sporting criterion for the 2017 season. The two last placed UCI WorldTeam on the 2016 UCI WorldTour ranking at the end of the final UCI WorldTour event of the 2016 season will be afforded ‘2017 UCI WorldTour candidate’ status”, along with those “other teams existing in 2016 and newly-created” teams aspiring to become a WorldTeam in 2017.

Alright, thanks for the info.

So it's still Dimension Data vs. Bora & Bahrein?

Signing Henao would make it interesting.

The gap between Bora/Bahrain and DD is over 400 points... nearly impossible to close that gap but signing Henao would help.
Do you know how exactly the points are counted? Could you explain? Because I seem to recall it wasn't very straightforwad in the past.
World Tour points.

Very surpising IAM jumped over Giant in the ranking. That Naesen character!

I think it's the total 2016 WT points of the 2017 roster. I remember reading a little while back that DD had roughly 230 points on their roster with Bora and Bahrain at around 600 points, that was before some recent Bahrain and Bora signings.

Puts them ahead of Lotto, AG2R, LottoNL, Astana & FDJ.
Henao's 2016 points count for Sky in the WT ranking, not for DD. DD has pretty much no chance to escape the bottom 2 positions, which means they'll battle with Bora and Bahrain for 2 licenses. In this battle, Henao's 2016 points (if he signs for DD) will count for DD as he's on their 2017 roster.

I may have misunderstood let me try again:

Henao currently has 234 points added to the 230 currently on DD's roster puts them on 464 which puts them ahead of both Lotto's, Astana and would leave AG2R looking at relegation because Matthews and Wilco's points put Sunweb north of 500.

Have I got that right?

Bahrain won't miss out. They are prepared to buy riders out of their contract as we have been reading. They will sign Rodriguez too if needed (they might sign him anyway).
