sorry, but that's a stupid post.
What's stupid is renewing the contract of an expensive rider despite having gone almost three years without a win and showing nothing decent this season.
He hasn't been terrible, three top 30 GC results when he was a domestique in 2 of those isn't that bad, only disappointment was Catalunya really. Mind you, he was 8th overall in Pais Vasco before the Eibar stage, wher he just had a really bad day. I expect him to be good in Cali, and then top-10 the Tour. Last year he showed nothing until Cali then came 6th in the Tour against a really good field. He is there to get good positions in GTs, he does that well. He is a good rider. A great rider with everything he's been through.

Wow, that really justifies his expensive contract!

And that's the problem with LottoNL and its previous incarnations: they spend their money on riders who get 6-10th at the Tour by sucking wheels and then do nothing the rest of the season.

I agree, having Bobby as a leader is like signing up Zubeldia to be your GC leader

... he should go for the KOM or just try to win a stage but he should forget about the GC

... after all, he's a Dutchie :D

If Nibali leaves, Rosa is 90% staying. Astana has plans on making him a GT captain.

Indeed if Nibali leaves Astana (not certain yet) they'll not sign a top class replacement but instead give more opportunities to and develop the young riders they already have. It's because of the financial reasons stated above.
They have Aru, Birdsong who can give them a top 10 on gc in another GT and in multiple one week races and they have Superman Lopez for the future, they don't need to sign a huge name. Rosa could also get a chance as a GT leader, even if I feel that he's probably better as a team leader for one week races and hilly classics.

Could anyone explain whether Stölting Service Group just signed a load of Cult Energy riders, but are still substantively Stölting, or if the structure of Cult has been renamed Stölting Service Group?

On the topic of German teams, I have only just noticed Team Stuttgart is now Christina Jewelry Pro Cycling - and like Christina Watches, they've signed Stefan Schumacher.

Stölting and Cult originally merged, but suddenly Cult decided to pull out their sponsorship immediately. That's why the Danes are in the new Stölting team.

Edith adds that Schumacher apparently made the contact with Christina Watches after being signed b Team Stuttgart 2.0 .
Rasmussen ain't involved with this squad he stated on social media.

Rumours says that Hagen is heading to Giant Alpecin as a replacement for Degenkolb (who's going to Trek from what I heard)

Since the CULT started sponsoring ColoQuick and brought over some of the riders that were left out after the merger.

Just read that Boonen could be looking for a new team.... this must be a no-brainer for Guercilena!

Why? Seems like the Degenkolb deal is done IMO.

If that is the case, it is clear that Sagan wasn't available as he is already committed to Quickstep.

So, either he can stay at Quickstep and play the domestique/backup role for Sagan or he should move on. My guess, one of the French teams or something like Lampre, Astana etc. may sign him for the spring campaign.

Won't happen anyway. Boonen and Lefevere are like these old-school couples that constantly complain about each other, but in the end they're always in true amore!

even if they already have Wellens...

I am waiting for news about IAM (if the sponsor continues of they fold) and if Sep stays at LottoJumbo

Often rides with Froome in training apparently.

both leave in Monaco. easy to meet around there.

I dont think Sky is interested in Gilber at all

What are the rumours on IAM? Last year there were rumours of a merger with BMC.
