How did you figure out that he will get a massive contract? Or is your logic - he will only sign a megabucks contract -> he signed a contract -> he will get megabucks.
The only thing mentioned is that he signed a contract. Did you expect no one to offer him a contract at all?

Don't think so. While Bakala is not directly associated with the Czech Cycling Federation, It is clear that due to his bad reputation and his past Clinic related issues he was left out of the Rio squad even though he won the Czech title today and he probably has the best chance of winning among the Czech riders.

My personal guess is that he is staying with Contador or he is going back to Astana. Third pick would be slaving for Nib at Bahrain.

Just to clarify I meant that most teams would happily, if they had the money, sign Contador for a large sum of money.

Really wish more teams had the backbone to refuse to ever sign ANY cyclists that were banned for doping. Would be so much better for the sport.

You sure? I thought it was his decision to not go to Rio due to clashing with his Tour - Vuelta program.

Yeah, I think you're right. Even if he can't win the Tour anymore, he can still win stages and other races and he guarantees a lot of media exposure. He's not worth 5 million anymore (and I doubt he even gets that much at Tinkoff these days) but definitely a million or two

Actually he was left out because he and Czech Cycling Team agreed to be it this way. He said today in press that he would not be able to prepare for Tour, Olympics and Vuelta at the same time. So no connection to "bad reputation".
