Definitely; classics are always very hard to win, that's what makes them so great and unpredictable (unlike GTs). But I think he'll get a win in one of the cobbled races - perhaps not a monument - some time in the next three years.

I imagine he'll improve at Etixx as well - he'll get his peaking right there, will have much better team support (after all, a lot of his narrow misses have been down to bad luck or inopportune punctures) and also he'll get in situations where Etixx have a big number advantage at the front and he'll have more chance to slip off the front without being chased down.

I know part of Sagan's big paycheck comes from his popularity (in part due to his big personality, charisma and funny antics), but €6.000.000 is a lot for what he has achieved since 2013. That's probably double what Nibali earns and since 2013 he won the Giro twice, The Tour once and also a Monument in Lombardia.

And it's funny how Liquigas/Cannondale held back both Nibali and Sagan. They started getting their best results after they left them.

well, sponsors are buying MARKETING VALUE, not directly the results (though usually strong correlation there) - in extreme case, even a popular "lantern rouge" (some equivalent of that famous "british eagle" ski jumper) can earn a lot due to exposure and general marketing value

and Sagan has hell a lot of such value (most probably for years to come), especially from the perspective of the U.S. market, that's why Specialized is so commited

Maybe QS can take him to the next level with better training programs and better diet... They seem much better organized than LottoNl.

Also if I remember correctly, it was a combination of Sky and Etixx who ripped Roubaix up this year. van Marcke needs a hard race to stand a chance against Degenkolb and Kristoff, and who can do that better than Etixx?

Moser and Gatto rumoured to Astana. Wellens and Cunego extend with their teams. On Tinkoff, do we have rumours on: Bodnar, Kišerlovski, Majka, or McCarthy? Majka seems like the perfect guy for a pro conti team with GT invitations or a smaller scale WT team (Bora?): he's effective at getting GT top 10s or a jersey. Apart from him, the Italians seem pretty in demand, the Contador bloc seems taken care of, I assume some of the older guys will retire, and I assume Russians will Russian. I don't know about younger guys like Baška, Gogl, and Kolář. I guess they might have to spend a season or two at pro conti.

I agree that right now the Sagan is a worth the price.

Just look at how much attention he has attracted at the Tour... perhaps the original poster didn't watch the same tour I did. He did some mighty find riding.

If you compare his salary vis-a-vis other athletes such as soccer, football, baseball, tennis, he is massively underpaid.

Sagan versus Froome - I think Sagan is worth more for marketing.

You would think Bodnar would go as part of a deal with Sagan's new team, only rumours I've heard around Majka are Bora and Bahrain. Surely McCarthy will get a WT contract but where I have no idea, Kišerlovski is a handy mountain Dom and there are a few teams who need a solid guy like that and he wouldn't cost much but again no idea where he goes.

Baska, Kolar and the other Sagan go to Bora. Bodnar and Majka have been rumored to Bora as well.

Results are not everything in this business.

If the main sponsor cares about TV time exposure, (I am sure Bora does) they will get the maximum they can get from one single rider. He is able to deliver more then whole team. Against the Froome or Conti he is delivering not only in Tdf but massivly also in spring and practicly each race he enter. Probably only Ivanisevic and football players have such a exposure as he has.

TINKOV unfortunately can not capitalize on Sagan as nobody cares about russian finantial credit company or russian hotel net.

BORA practicly got half year free. Rumours about Sagan going to Bora made Bora probably the most profitable company out of this tour in terms of money invested again TV exposure.
To tell the truth I knew nothing about the Bora before the tour and now I am buing new glass cerammic cooktop.

Also would not be surprised if Leo Konig left SKY too

Well, they started the year with only 25 riders, and Popovych retired after Paris-Roubaix, so with Cancellara also going they're down to 23 for next season. I would have expected more retirements but Rast and Irizar have renewed for next season, and Hesjedal, Zubeldia and Schleck still seem to have something to give.
