The Lampre situations sucks, but again, it is not the Chinese fault.

its the ASO & UCI "business model" as they are the only two financially benefiting from cycling.

While Tinkov has a big mouth, he was 100% correct about the broken system. Unfortunately, as long the riders, sponsors and team owners will tolerate this situation, things will never change.

Strong roleur Truls Korsæth will sign for Astana shortly,

Could be useful for Lutsenko/Valgren in the Ardennes, though he comes even more into his own on the cobbles - big powerhouse.

Update on the UK domestic scene. NFTO almost certain to fold after failing to find a replacement sponsor.

ONE's drop to conti means that all the rider's contracts are void. So National crit champ Chris Lawless has joined Axeon Hagens Berman. Is it too late for the others such as Dion Smith and Tom Stewart? ONE previously cited Factor bikes moving to AG2R as the reason for their problems. But Factor have now said they were willing to supply both teams...

Is it usually the case that contracts become void upon a change of division? What happened to Europcar back when they left the WT for instance?

Thanks for your post - This clarifies my earlier post asking whether One Pro-cycling will be around in 2017 - So it means that contracts are voided if you drop a level - So One could still lose some riders.

Don't know if this matter is contract-specific or general rule applies but nothing of relevance happened to Europcar in that regard since they had no riders whom any other team would want at the WT level anyway so they were probably happy at EUC whether they were WT or Pro-conti and did not seek to use any exit options if such existed...

They had more riders with the necessary level to ride in the WT than ONE have riders who will find it easy to get another PCT contract. They had lots of "anonymous Frenchman on a French team" filler, but they had a core of good riders.

Europcar was like a family. Anyone happily stayed, because Bernadeau really got a strong tie with his riders. I bet Rolland wishes he'd just done the same again last year.

According to the latest article on Cycling News, Rolland seems happy at Cannondale - Though not too happy about the riding in the TDF.
