Jose Been (Eurosport) says tomorrow there is a special QST pressco. Transfer? Renews? New sponsor deal?
They're not allowed to announce transfers yet, so I'd very much doubt the former.

This, although they can announced resigned riders who are currently on their team at any point.

Is that a good move for De Plus? Thought he might have an opportunity of developing as a GC rider at Quickstep, given that they've only really got Alaphillipe. At Lotto he'll presumably just be domming for Roglic or SK.

When has Quickstep ever developed a GC-rider?

It looks like Enric Más fills that role quite nicely at the moment (the developing gc rider).

.... instead of being limited by having to support a guy like Jakob 'podium' Fuglsang.

not that Fuglsang is a regular on GT podiums ... according to wikipedia his best result was being 7th in TdF 2013 .... if you choose (or have no other option than) to be a domestique, you're definitely better off working for a guy who regularly delivers (in GT Froome or Dumoulin; the top notch sprinters or in classics Sagan, GvA, Valverde) rather than someone who has absolutely no history of delivering at all ....

Ochowicz would rather die than use any significant money on a sprinter
If he’s focusing on classics with GVA, then it makes sense to also have a sprinter for the grand tours, because with no gc rider, and no sprinter, you’d be going to most grand tours for 3 weeks hoping to pick up one or two out of 4 or 5 possible stage wins, and that’s it.

The bike swapping is a little silly so far:
DiData- Cervelo to BMC
BMC- BMC to Giant
Sunweb- Giant to Cervelo

For Nieuwsblad, Valgren will ride for Trek next year. We will see...

That one makes more sense

Danish DS who will prioritise him, and him with Pedersen, Stuyven and a reborn Degenkolb, will mean Trek can give QS a very hard time in the classics season, and he is great GT support, for whatever GC captain Trek picks up for next season
Valgen in talk with several teams.

According to DS Brian Holm, Valgrens manager is in talks with QS (of course after his spring). Source danish TV2.

Valgren states that he is young and he wants to ride his chance - bigger contracts will come later.

Which is why he won't go to QS

Too many classics stars on that team, and he will too often end up not riding his chance.

He'll use Quickstep to get more money out of someone else.

I tend to agree but I'm not 100% sure. Just look at how many classics qs won this year and who won. If a guy like lampaert can win races for that team Valgren can too. The problem qs has is that with Gilbert and terpstra their two strongest classics riders are already pretty old so they should get some fresh blood. Moreover valgren is kinda similar to Gilbert looking at what races he has won.

Yeah, but he doesn't want to be "one of the guys that win races" - he is getting that at Astana already.

He is looking to be able to ride his own chance in most races, which would never happen at QS

Valgren is rumoured to Dimension Data, Trek, Quickstep, SKY & Astana.

Curiously, DD seems to be the most credible rumour.
Seems odd to leave Astana with the Danish contingnent an Michaelsen as DS.

Valgren has to be careful with any proposed move - Yes he won Het Nieuwsbled and Amstel Gold but these were when he attacked the group after n Astana had multiple riders in the lead group.
