Dimension Data announced that King and Boasson Hagen have renewed.
and signed Gaspa

And so DD have signed the entire podium of the 2018 Amstel Gold.

I guess they've done much more than we might have expected in preparation for next season, and should have a decent team. Despite Ben King's current hot streak, 2018 has been a season they will not like to repeat.

I can't believe Quick Step is looking for a new sponsor. If cycling was that lucrative they wouldn't have problem finding a new sponsor, am I right?

It is sad the struggles of cycling to find companies to fund the sport. Back in the days Colombian companies had the money to fund teams. Now is so expensive that it is so hard to invest.

I'm really spooked for the future of this sport.

No Italian team isn't a good sign. You would think that especially in Europe QS would not have any trouble attracting a sponsor. Cofidis have been an incredible sponsor for French cycling. Maybe some more merged teams in the future ? You would think China may be the next country to take the plunge as they are throwing money at everything. I hope Alonso gets his proposed team off the ground.

Were you spooked too for the future of cycling when Sunweb announced they will sponsor indefinitely the team (something unprecedented in cycling)?
It always depends on how one looks at the glass: half-full or half-empty. Nothing new here... But honestly, I think there is no need to be "spooked " (at least for the time being, in 10 years things might change (or they might not ;) ) but we'll see then)

There's more money in the sport that ever. For better or worse. It is difficult to tell whether something needs to change or is the same-old story about sponsor death each time this time of the year. Oh well, that's for a different thread.

Luis Ricardo Villalobos will join EF in summer 2019 on a 3-year deal. He will remain with his current team for the first part of the next season.

A commentator of Polish Eurosport (Dariusz Baranowski) subtly hinted today during the Vuelta stage that Sergio Henao might be heading to CCC, although he insisted he has NOT been told about that but it sounded a bit like he might have been.

Power has done well to get another WT Contract - He's struggled to make the transition from the under 23's to the seniors - It's a pity because he wasn't far behind Lopez in the under 23's and was better than Moscon - Finally, MS had lost faith in Power because of in inability to back up in stage races.

Didn't he have some illness that meant he lost basically his entire first year on the WT?

I could see that Sergio Henao move happening. He'd have loads of freedom and opportunities at the CCC team whereas at Sky he's been overtaken in stature by too many riders now.

Power rumored to Sunweb (Telegraaaf). Good news if true!

I think that's a really smart signing. Still very young and has shown enough glimpses of his talent this year to think he'll kick on in the years to come now that he's over his health issues.

Not so sure about the Roche signing. 34 and probably having his worst year as a pro.

Power lost 2/3 of his first year - The fact is he has struggled with recovery and MS weren't overly fussed in renewing his contract - Hopefully Sunweb can turn him around.

Roche is the better signing - Power has hasn't made a GT start yet, while you can rely on Roche to ride and finish and ride a GT.

Roche has had a tough year, but for understandable personal reasons. It remains to be seen if he can get back to his old level, or anything close. Even if he can, in terms of support for Sunweb, he's a replacement for the Geschke/Ten Dam role, rather than the additional late-mountain super-dom like Poels or Bernal that Dumoulin just hasn't had in a GT yet.

Well thats because Kelderman crashes out of every GT he is supposed to have this role. But Oomen is progressing every yeary if he continues doing that he will be in this role in 1-2 years.
I think with Power Mitchelton lose a very interesting prospect. He is nowhere near is U23 promise, but thats for reasons and he showd this year he can still ride on a high level. Especially in One day races. If Sunweb develop him alongside the other young australians through riding a GT plus a good programme I think he'll be interesting to watch. His ride in Strade Bianche didn't came out of nothing.

Mexican Luis Villalobos Hernandez from Aevolo to EF

Talented guy, but must really hate his life to join that team.

Supposedly he also had a Jumbo offer or at least they had recently shown interest in him. Maybe not a wise decision to choose EF instead, although he will have more freedom for sure.
