Roompot and Sniper cycling merge, and will be known as Roompot - Crelan next year.

The interesting part will be if WVA’s contract is enforceable by the merged team. According to the piece on the front page today, the discovery that he would be free to leave was a big stumbling block in the Aquablue/Sniper negotiations.

Can we have these discussions about riders capabilities and not in the rider;s actual threads - Leave this thread to trnasfer news.

If a discussion about something develops in a wrong place, shouldn't we be allowed to participate?

No - You transfer the discussion to the appropriate thread.

But you can spam the thread with messages wanting to have messages removed?

I don't understand why a discussion cannot be taken in the thread it develops in.

Other sources says the just wanted to get Sniper as the paying agent to get out of some of ABSs suppliercontracts.

The two are not mutually exclusive. Gain WVA, lose 3T, two wins for the price of one.

No, I don't. But you disrespect him as a rider based on the one single fact that you don't feel he helped Fuglsang enough. And thats extremely pathetic, but Im not surprised when it comes to you.

Mod hat on:

Hi all, this thread is to discuss transfers and rumours. Clearly there is going to be some discussion around whether people think a transfer is good or not, for both the rider and the team/s. That's fine, but this is quickly heading towards a discussion that is much better suited to the riders thread, and another meta-discussion around that point... If you wish to continue it please carry on there.

Cheers,

KB.

UAE currently only has 13 riders under contract for 2019.
THe biggest names are probably Ulissi and Rui Costa, both of them will probably have to accept a pay cut, for both of them a team like AG2R would be a good option.
Ganna to Sky seems to be a done deal, the other interesting guys are Polanc, Laengen, Ravasi, Troia, Atapuma and Swift.
Polanc or Ravasi would both be a nice addition to Bahrain (who, according to Nibali himself, should sign one more climbing domestique) and Laengen would be the kind of guy that would be perfect for the Skytrain.
At this point I'm begging for a rumor.

Apparently Cav will leave DD, if he can get healthy and stay healthy he's still one of the fastest sprinters available. I could see him at Bahrain Merida as Merida want a big name British rider.

From that perspective his illness comes at the worst possible moment. Given his poor results this season (and the season before for that matter) signing him would not be very promising at this moment.

Baptiste Planckaert from Katusha to WB Aqua Service (PCT), where he rode for in 2016.

he had offers from roompot, Cofidis, AG2R but prefers to go to WB Aqua service

Roy Jans goes from Cibel to Corendon team of Mvdp, Kenneth van Bilsen has an offer as well to leave Cofidis and go to the same teambut hasn't decided yet.

Jasper Philipsen didn't take any decision for his future, stay at Hagens, or accept one of the many offers he has : go to QS, Lotto Soudal or another WT team....

Cav must be cheap to sign then....

If I were Plackaert, I would've picked AG2R. He would be able to win the Coupe National for them, they may very well send him to a GT like the Vuelta to sprint. I don't get why he is taking a step back but w/e.

Good signing from Corendon, Jans is the fastest Belgium Sprinter but he has some problems with positioning. If things had worked out a little bit different in the past he could've been a former Belgium champion by this point.

Planckaert must feel more confident at WB I suppose, but you're right about AG2R, they have no sprinter

about Jans, he has had his chances

a long time since Belgium had a top sprinter...

But Corendon have done almost no road races this year. I counted one 2.HC, one 2.1 and three 1.1 races. Is this the volume of racing Jans wants to do, or do they plan broadening their road race participation?

They want to go to a PCT level, which will be step up for Jans who is now with the Continental Cibel squad.

“Fastest Belgian sprinter” is as meaningful as “fastest Samoan climber”. Jans last won a pro race in 2016 and before that he seemed to win one extremely small race per season. Sprint fields are too deep nowadays for sprinters of Jans level to make any kind of impact. Still though, if someone is willing to offer him a pro contract, good luck to him.

When I say "fastest" I meant that he wil reach the highest speed during one. He doesn't have the best positioning nor does he have the "killer instinct" needed to win bigger races.

Only one that is bad for is Cav himself with the negotiation of the contract.

Im sure a team is happy to take a gamble for the right price. If attitude and motivation still there with Cav.
