Jasper Philipsen to UAE
I'm interested to see where and if he will excell. I think he doesn't have the speed (yet?) to be a real sprinter. I mean i don't see him winning sprints against the 5-10 best in the world anytime soon. But i haven't followed him closely and only know him rather superficially, so i could be wrong. But i also don't know if that's where his real strenght lies.

Any rumours on who actually might join Axel Merckx's team? Five riders confirmed leaving and atm only Vacek joining.

No clue who they are linked with, but they had a squad of 16 in 2018. They had 5 guys go WT, plus Michael Rice and Zeke Mostov age out of the U23s after 2018. Given the team went PCT last offseason, Mostov reportedly has a two year deal. So they have 6, maybe 7 spots available for new riders (unless Rice gets renewed, so that makes 5 spots). There isn't much in the way of top US juniors, given Quinn Simmons and Michael Garrison are both 2001, so don't start as U23s until 2020. They may still add from the current US junior crop of Andrew Vollmer, Kevin Vermaerke and Sean Quinn. The last two in particular had good junior years, if not sensational.

I would expect some more experienced u23s to join. Only Blevins, Bjerg and Almeida (if he's staying) are good enough for PCT. Of course it's a development team, so everyone is expected to improve, but I still think the current team, including your proposed additions, is too weak for a race like the Tour of California.

No rumours abot Berhane? He hsn't resigned with DD, but he'd be a good rider to have for many PCT teams, same with Debesay. Typical Eritren riders, good rouleurs who are decent climbers and have a decent sprint, if 'd hae to cmpare them to a more famous rider with a similar skillset 'd probably say Gallopin.
Rafael Reis is also out of contract, I think signing him coul be a good investment.

Antonio Soto to ride for the Euskadi Foundation next year. He has done well with Lizarte this year and I thought perhaps he would have moved into the pro ranks at a slightly higher level particularly as he is Murciano. Sometimes best to move without so much pressure though.

He will be 24 by the start of next season though, so suppose he wasn't seen as as much of a prospect by the big local team, and I'm not sure there's any Lizarte rider that's really stood out this season unless they want to promote Zhyhunou. Elosegui looks very good but he's only 20 so it's probably too soon for them to promote him to the WT team, and perhaps Martí Márquez has more chance than Soto.

At the same time, it's basically for Euskadi because Murias have signed Juan López-Cozar, which I think we all knew was going to happen.

I agree completely although sometimes who you know can be just as important as the talent you have as long as there is talent of course! Euskadi should be a good opportunity for him.
