I was wondering if they'd merge with Mitchelton or take title sponsorship, though that would alienate Mtichelton's current riders. The goal to have a 2024 Chinese TDF winner in my view is one that is not feasible though, I think the country is at least another ten years away from that (from 2024).

Nice for Miles to land on a team, hopefully he can keep on learning from riders such as Kung and Demare.

Mitchelton Scott will be unhappy with the turn of events - They've placed lots of time and resources into China with the view to obtaining a title sponsorship in the upcoming two years - Will be interesting to see what happens in the future - Sun Holdings was seen to be the biggest chance to sponsor a Chinese tagged team, though they currently have a close relationship with MS.

Maybe it'll happen, maybe it won't, but given how often Gazzetta make things up out of whole cloth, I'll ignore that report until I either see it from a trustworthy source or see the transfer going through.

I guess they liked the page views that last year's "Viviani has signed with UAE" got them.

Mas should be on a relatively small contract so I'm not buying that Lefevre needs to get rid of him for money reasons.
I wouldn't be surprised if riders have contract clauses to upgrade their salary in case of achieving big results. With Mas having finshed a GT on the podium recently, that may well be the case for him.

sad if Gaviria and Mas would leave QS, but might explain why the transfer of Philipsen from Axen to UAE isn't official, they might have a bigger target and Philipsen might end at QS?

for one time QS has a GT rider....

According to Gazzetta dello Sport Gaviria will leave QST and join UAE. And also Enric Mas might leave the team, because they have to cut down budget.

Is a shame that both of them leave QST, is one of my favorite teams.

Is Kristoff leaving UAE?

If is true i think that Gaviria will leave with one of his closest teammates, Iljo or Maxi.

No, apparently Kristoff isn't leaving, so it would be a mess, 2 big name sprinters and not enough guys to form 2 good trains, even if Gaviria would bring Maxi back to Saronni (ok, Ferrari-Richeze and a random guy before them sounds pretty good).
Still, UAE already have too many leaders, a team like Bahrain that lacks a top level pure sprinter would make more sense.
Who knows, maybe it's just the usual Beppe Conti bs.
