I think it might be Pellizotti and one of his hard working team mates is already at team Sky in Kjell Carlstrom. Who would Pellizotti bring with him that would be interesting if anybody.

Still think they will sign Clancey and Killeen and maybe Hayman.

So that would be :

Kurt Asle Arvesen (Saxo Bank)
John Lee Augustyn (Barloworld)
Michael Barry (Columbia)
Edvald Boasson Hagen (Columbia)
Kjell Carlstrom (Liquigas)
Steve Cummings (Barloworld)
Russell Downing (CandiTV)
Juan Antonio Flecha (Rabobank)
Chris Froome (Barloworld)
Simon Gerrans (Cervélo)
Greg Henderson(Columbia)
Peter Kennaugh (GB Academy)
Thomas Lovkvist (Columbia)
Lars Petter Nordhaug (Joker Bianchi)
Serge Pauwels (Cervélo)
Morris Possoni (Columbia)
Ian Stannard (ISD)
Chris Sutton (Garmin)
Geraint Thomas (Barloworld)
Sylvain Calzati (Agritubel)
Davide Vigano (Fuji-Servetto)

plus Pellizotti, Hayman, Clancey and Killeen that would be 25. A Pellizotti team mate would make 26.

According to biciciclismo.com Andalucia-Cajasur has signed Jose Angel Gomez Marchante (cervelo) and Manuel Vazquez (Contentpolis AMPO).

This is in addition to signing Pablo Lechuga and Antonio Cabello from their Elite 23 squad.

They have also renewed Javier Estrada, Manuel Ortega, José Luis Roldán, Antonio Piedra, Jesús Rosendo, Javier Moreno and Javier Ramírez Abeja.

They also signed José AntonioToribio, Jorge Martín Montenegro and Sergio Carrasco.

I am starting to worry about Cervelo, they have lost Gerrans, Pauwels, Roulston and now looks like Gomez Marchante. I know he didnt have a great season but still was an experienced guy. I dont think Dan Fleeman had his contract renewed either and the only major signing to date has been Theo Bos and a few neo-pros. Methinks Cervelo need a few more decent signings to replace the guys they lost.

Ya, I've been thinking the same thing...Some top guys and good support leaving but not much coming in. I'm thinking perhaps their budget is a little stressed so they perhaps don't have alot of wiggleroom to give pay raises and expensive signings.

They've had a very good year given their pro continental status so perhaps they have simply outperformed their own budget margin.

yeh but im not all there in the head.. i see things differently.. :D although the wife said he was like a 12 year old girl going through puberty, so i guess that means the same..

i like my riders to be men... line of coke before the race, beer during the race, attack at every opportinity and then hit the local knocking shop, do another two lines and take a girl upstairs.. none of this girly modern cyclist crap...

omg, I also watched it with the wife (she can't sit through friggin Flanders but watches every cycling docu with me) and she thought he was a shy and cute guy.

Maybe because whining is the Dutch national sport we didn't notice that part that much :D

/edit to your edit: Anquetil is dead, get over it. :)

I know Deignan just had his contract extended for another year and was probably increased as well but Gerrans, Pauwels and Roulston were 3 of the better performing second rank riders and they are all leaving so no payrises there. Maybe Haussler is getting a big increase, Reimer is the only other rider I can see getting a rise and he was probably on the minimun before. Surely, they cannot be paying Bos that much money. Cervelo had a fantastic season, dont want to see them go backwards.

oh she watches anything.. she had never heard of cycling the summer she moved in.. now shes seen everything, and three tours live.. shes desperate to go to roubaix, stole my robert miller book before i could read it..

she wants pozzato at sky btw.. because she shook his hand once... then again, she also hit geraint thomas around the head with a sainsburys bag of shopping on the morning of the tour prologue.. :/

Konovalovas had a good year as well so he might be getting more money. Also there might have been a bonus or two payed out for Hushovds green jersey for example.

Also the people leaving might have felt they deserved more money than Cervélo could offer so there might still be financial reasons in play there as well. Though there were probably several reasons behind those riders leaving. Gerrans not getting a spot in the Tour for example or Pauwels missing out on a stagewin in the Giro is another possible factor for him.

I think in Sastre's defence, he was still reeling from his brother in law Jose Maria Jimenez's (I would love to know what 'El Chaba' means in English) death in December 2003.

Oh come on, you can't leave it there. We want to hear this story!

Susan

oh theres not really much more to it than that.. we where walking the prologue course at about 6am heading to the finish line and carrying the usual foodstuff for the day.. she was carrying a bag over her shoulder, and looking round to admire the view, span around, and clouted him with her bag of rolls, buscuits and water..

i think the intial response from her was "oh ive just hit some bloke in a barloworld kit around the head with my bag, oh well, he should be more careful, whats he doing riding around here anyway"... made her apologies, he accepted them and off she went, realising about 10 yards in that is was geraint..

of course too late then to turn around and apologise again..

she had a bad day that day, about ten minutes later sean kelly went past, saw me in my pdm shirt and waved... of course had he seen her, also in a kas shirt he would have probably come over and said hello.. shame she was crouched behind the barrier reading her womens trash mag at the time..

was her first race poor lamb.. shes an expert spotter and grabber now.. by the end of that tour, she had discovered slightly drunk, the csc hotel as they where coming out of their post tour party, had made freinds with several riders, and had managed to accidentally explain we where wearing old shirts, and i used to ride, and somewhere in the translation it became that i used to ride for pdm and kas..

shes ok now though.. now shes just thrilled that this year brad and dave m both came over and took flags from her and put them on their bikes on paris.. :D

"Chaba" is an apocope of "Chabacano" which means vulgar in English. It was a sort of family's nickname, a common thing in the small Spanish villages. ;)

I am extremely excited two of my riders just signed for the contempolis Ampo under 23 team. Micheal Daley he is a climbing specialist he is much more talented than most of the pros that I've rode with and met and he is just 19 years old. Then Ricardo kerr 18 years old a kid I compare to EBH because he can do everything good, I am extremely proud of them they work so hard and they win on bread and water alone.
