Something tells me this course is not the best way to remember Pantani's style.

Why not finish on one of the climbs and have either one or two more laps of them, or find an extra 20-30km of flat beforehand.

No, a classic should always incorporate the toughest part mid section and with some distance before the line. The parcours is brilliant here, a "real" winner must attack from a distance and make the race. Unlike some of the pathetic uphill sprint stuff we have, this is a proper race course.

We have a proper winner here.

I thought TRE Vale Varesine was a Trittico race, not Memorial Pântano. Am I wrong?

No, for one thing the Memorial Marco is in Emilia-Romagna; Tre Valli is in Lombardia...

I would like the Memorial Marco Pantani to go with the same format (with the tough climbs in the middle, then the long run-in) but preferably with the big climb in the middle that they do two circuits of being the Cippo di Carpegna, Questa è il Cielo del Pirata. Then you could have a long run-in but with the climbers having had a moment to really favour them but needing to go long to benefit, preferably with another couple of small hills on the way back to throw off the chase, then the flat distance back to Cesenatico.

Maybe we do this year, but in the previous 11 editions of this race, we've had Colbrelli, Modolo, Felline, Viviani, Ferrari, Bennati. Not many of those riders are known for Pantani-like racing.

What has the GP Prato to do with the Trittico Lombardo?
Nothing really
it just the continuation of the Italian National traning season for the Worlds.
Prato =/= Lombardia !

Bennati, Marcato, Rebellin, Wackermann, Nibali, Colbrelli wins bunch sprint.

Edit: ToS beat me to it.

Nibali has had an awesome week. Bennati looks good for Richmond. Why is Marcato not included in the team for Richmond?

Yes, was a cool attack. Also nice to see Aru doing the work for him. And i was reminded today that Schleck can't descend even the slightest... (lost contact on the last round in the descent)

Another great Victory from Nibali at the Tre Valli Varesine, but according to some he ain't there yet to win Lombardia....
