First Kern, then Charteau and now Turgot. Europcar is the dirtiest team in the peloton really...

The French don't dope, didn't you get the memo?

would love to hear Guilmard on this one : ah les espagnols et les italiens ...

and now three french riders from europcar + Baugé & Offredo : we start to understand how it comes the french deliver this year ...

Can people have results taken away for a whereabouts violation or is it just a ban?

the CN article mentions :

"French track rider Gregory Bauge was given a backdated one year ban for violating the whereabouts requirements, nullifying all his 2011 results, including two world titles."

don't know about Offredo's results, didn't he appeal?

will Voeckler & Rolland be wiser about the wereabouts ? ;)

Ah, should have read the whole article:eek:

What has Kern done? I know people were suspicious last year but a search on google doesnt throw anything up.

The last sentence of the linked article reads:

"Currently pending deliberation, he can remain relaxed as the commission has not accepted one of the three warnings."

Edit : Should read "He could be released if the commission does not accept one of the three warnings" apologies.

Many of the comments from readers of the L'Equipe article suggest there is a problem with the French 'whereabouts' system. It's also suggested there could be a problem inside the Europcar team administration leading to poor organisation.

A back dated one year ban ? -if you miss your 'visists' you're banned going forward .

Nothing was ever confirmed, but several sources were reporting that he was thrown out of the TDF team for having too high crit levels. However, the team claimed it was due to "knee problems". But the thing is, when Charteau was thrown out of Dunkerque the team also blamed it on "knee problems", even if everyone now know that he was thrown out due to his blood values!

Bauge lost his results because the missed test wasn't released at the time, so he was riding while he should have been banned. Like Contador's 2011 Giro, after the appeal failed, he should have been banned during that Giro so it doesn't count. Whether Turgot loses results depends entirely on whether they were before or after test number 3.

which means that if the third test was before Paris - Roubaix his result will be nullified, right?

Anyway could have implications for that threas"cleanest" tour thing. that one which proved that only Spanish people dope.

Sébastien Turgot 120th overall in the Tour De France 2011.

Should be, so long as all the procedures have been followed correctly.

French cycling has been sending very worrying signals for a while now. Busted amateurs, weird values in those French federation longitudinal tests, dubious performances, and stories like this.

Point is, I don't think it means that French cycling wasn't cleaner back when everybody said that, but it's got dirtier again.

Not to mention the attempted cover-up of the Bauge case. To me, seeing doping in track is even more worrying. By far the biggest events in track are the Olympics and WC, so the riders are going to have much more to do with the federation, which makes it much more likely that the federation is aware of it and isn't doing anything.

Was this business on Charteau ever reported on? It's the first I've heard of it.

It looks like they reinvested the 'Voeckler dividends' and it was not in the team's administrative division.
