Anyone with twitter can send a comment to ITV (UK channel broadcasting this) complaining about the disgraceful commentary they are offering (they are offering Liggets commentary obviously).

If the American channel reads twitter we can do the same.

Complain about the extremely poor commentary they are offering. If enough people do it maybe they will consider hiring their own commentary team.

Unlucky you can´t see it in Germany. The reporters are critical of Armstrong/UCI, same time talk about the race. Well-balanced coverage

My apologies...have not read the entire thread... the delicious irony...LA's ego directly results in LA's dissembling being revealed and LA becoming completely unstuck.

I am tempted to use "tragic irony" BUT this circumstance will work to the ultimate advantage of the sport (IMO).

And that is a further irony that LA's ego contributes to the ultimate improvement of the sport...Truly a feast to savour.

Umm, how many things wrong with that. He echos armstrongs pathetic "congrats ekimov" tweet, but makes absolutely no mention about the accusations.

I rode in the 90's and I know what went on. I never saw any doping at Motorola. We don't need these stories emerging now. We need to get on with the sport. I don't know what these people's agenda's are but they're obviously sour grapes.'

Eurosport need to get rid of Brian Smith, He rode for Motorola for one year in 94 prior to LA being diagnosed. He never rode a GT with Armstrong. He apparently believes that nobody has doped since the nineties. He apparently believes that nobody dopes now. He apparently has no comprehension of the implications of lying to federal prosecutors. The man is clearly a cretin.

It's nice to hear that I can lie, cheat, and steal my way through life and then get my dignity back as long as I admit some of it and then take down my teammate with me. It reminds me of why so many people find christianity attractive - it allows scewups to feel good about themselves again by just speaking a few words. It will be interesting to see what the IOC says regarding the medal. Personally I think there should be no winner, or just put an asterisk next to his name and take away the hardware.

I think the larger point needs to be made that instead of focusing on who to give those Tour titles to, to vacate Armstrong's name from the books. He should never be honored as the man who won the most Tours, or even one Tour for that matter.

They might as well leave those years blank-no winner. Cycling needs to do this.

That would make it clear to all those who doped that even in posterity there will be no rewards for cheaters.

Good post Berzin. I don't think it's right to elevate other names to winners, names of riders such as Ulrich, Pantani, Basso, etc. It would really be more appropriate to just leave the winner's name blank in all the years where the winner was shown to have cheated.

In the most direct words I can use, these races had no winner.

The other advantage of this is that some 30-50 years from now people can look back and do some research as to what happened during these years, and find out why there are no winners, and hopefully learn from this era's mistakes.

Absolutely. Anything else would be a circus. Handing a maillot jaune to Ullrich, Basso, Kloden et al or handing a gold medal to Ekimov, it just perpetuates the same old game. Don't get caught, keep quiet, and everything will be alright.

It won't air anywhere before it's original east coast air time of 7:00 PM, or 2:00 PM Monday in your neck of the woods.

If there is no streaming video (I think you can only view episodes online after the original air date), you might be able to listen on CBS radio online streaming.

Personally I would like to see the world of cycling disown and ignore him. In my mind his crime is riding roughshod over the sport I love. Bullying and cheating his way up and lieing on his way down. Let's be rid of him and leave him to the GJ.

It took me a few minutes to figure out how/why Weisel would be motivated do it. USAC is a den of thieves. then there are no surprises. It sounds like Weisel's going to leave Wonderboy for the wolves then and preserve what he can. I could be 100% wrong. I'm way out here in the cheap seats.

You are of course right DW. I'm no LA supporter, and he will get what's coming to him, but for the future of the sport doping is the focus. Cutting it, curbing it, doing whatever necessary to clean up the mess and make the sport better for future riders.
