Is all the proceeds for the “dynamic duo’s” book going to help keep the little kids off PED’s?

If not then where are they going? Help gather funds to get brah a haircut? :D

It must be popular given the rip off prices. Think of a number... er... 4... right that's what we'll multiply the US cover price by. May explain why the largest online bookstore here isn't even offering it for presale.

Why not just get it of Amazon? Do you live somewhere they don't ship or where it's really expensive?

Someone appears to be bitter that their hero is stripped of all, while Tyler is getting some kudos for telling the truth.

Come on Mark. Clear the cobwebs from that wallet of yours. Do it for the publisihing industry which is been ravaged by pirated Internet media.

Fair enough. And I agree we should not have sympathy for doping. But not all dopers are Lance Armstrong.

I am glad Tyler has had the courage to tell his story. It is something that needs to be out there in the public. The 60 Minute interview didn't do his story justice.

If I had to choose between dropping a 20 dollar bill for Tyler's book or giving 20 dollars to the LAF, I wouldn't hesitate to go for the book.

Riduculous. Courage?!?! Just a busted doper looking to feed his ego and pockets.

Nothing courageous at all he has in his body.

I know, I can't believe Lance in Montreal, either, but this is a thread about Tyler's great new, courageous and enlightening book.

You guys are seriously complaining about spending $20 bucks for a book that is an evolutionary step from the excellent but clearly dated "Rough Ride" by Paul Kimmage?

No. You couldn't be more wrong if you tried.

Tyler Hamilton telling the truth about doping in the professional ranks isn't "profiting from doping" as you mistakenly claim.

Armstrong in Montreal telling the world he's a 7-time Tour winner to raise money for Livestrong is "profiting from doping".

You got two more weeks to pretend you can't tell the difference.

Its' voices like yours that are becoming increasingly irrelevant. Once the USADA report comes out, that'll be it for you and your like-minded brethren.

I find it amazing that people here actually take everything Tyler writes for the truth. He claims he was lured to take EPO and blood doping, how stupid is that.

Nobody can make you do anything you don´t wanna do, and if that´s his claim hes really ****ed up. The guy got caught, he got banned, he didn´t learn anything, got caught again, and it´s others fault he dopped?
No wait, it´s his not yet born twin who is to blame for the positive tests, forgot that, sorry...

He made the money, now I guess they are spend so he have to write the big revelation of doping of the century, clean his conscience and dust of the guilt on others, money in the bank.

I have no doubt there are much truth in some of the things he writes, but it would be real stupid to take everything for facts, Tyler is a bitter man, and he had always put the blame on others, I would be very careful believing everything he says.

You still flapping your gums about hero’s? How about a sandwich????
What I posted is called a joke. But for you it is somehow stepped on your toes.
If you care to continue the colorful and entertaining dialogue then lets “tweet” about it. That way you do not have to cry foul or ring up your protectors around here.

http://www.outsideonline.com/outdoo.../Keyes-hamilton-the-secret-race.html?page=all

"What ultimately makes the book so damning, however, is that it doesn’t require readers to put their full faith in Hamilton’s word. In the book’s preface, which details its genesis, Coyle not so subtly addresses Armstrong’s supporters by pointing out that, while the story is told through Hamilton, nine former Postal teammates agreed to cooperate with him on The Secret Race, verifying and corroborating Hamilton’s account. Nine teammates. That fact is the first punch thrown at Armstrong’s supporters—and it might be the most damaging one"

it's going to get harder and harder to spin the "bitter liar" thing...

LA PR bingo:
bitter ex-teammate 1 point
misdirection 1+ bonus point
ETA: they're telling lies about LA 1 point

Total score: 4 points. You need to try much, much harder. Not yet a pass.

To increase your score, try opening with, "I am not a Lance fan" and use the words, "witch-hunt" or "unconstitutional".

Thank you for playing.

Endgame:

- LA publicly admits, albeit with caveats ("waste of taxpayer money," "8 year SOL"), excuses ("everyone else was doing it"), and justifications ("I did it for the cancer victims"), that he doped.

- Pat is out of the UCI and there is a complete overhaul of the organization.

Sadly, that will never happen. He will be 60 years old and drunk off his *** in some bar going on and on about how he was a tour champion <drink> and those ****ers <drink> took away his ceramic <drink> ****ing <drink> trophies <drink>.

Meh. At this point, because he helped bring down Godzilla, I will put money in his pocket. I just wish Floyd would publish...I an hoping that because of the court's decision about him paying people back, he writes something. Just based on the feeling I had that day I read his emails, he deserves some scratch from me.

Why do you care if he is making money off the book? Armstrong, Vaughters and Riis all profited directly from their doping in order to build wealth after racing. Tyler can't work in professional cycling, maybe that is the right thing but its not fair that those other cheats continue to be in the sport. Let him make some money ffs.

You're forgetting Daniel Coyle. Very respected journalist, did some 200 hours of interviews with Hamilton, then cross referenced with other cyclists who witnessed the same thing.

I find it wholly believable. Indeed I doubt if any young rider gets up on a Saturday morning and pedals around town looking for dope on his/her own. Doping with EPO and blood doping is serious stuff. You don't do it on your own. If you do try to, you are probably more likely to die than get up your next 5% 1 mile climb.

I believe Tyler. Not because there is overwhelming evidence, but simply because that is what makes sense. Kids were told: "If you wanna race, you dope." I think kids are still being told that, probably even more.

No links. No evidence.

I sort of agree, up to a point. And that point is: when it's in his best interest to admit it, he will. He won't be motivated by guilt, or a sudden divine inspiration to do the right thing. It will come when it's the right thing to do from a business standpoint. Maybe there will be an inside-the-bus videotape of him shooting up, or Sheryl goes on People magazine to tell the whole sordid story to all the housewives of the world, or his reputation is in the gutter so deep that LAF isn't getting any donations, that he'll realize that it's in his best financial interest to go on Oprah and -- like a Sunday morning televangelist who has been caught with hookers and blow -- tearfully come clean and tell the world that he has seen the depths of hell, he has ridden with the devil, and was once corrupted by greed: a sinner. And if you can just find it in your hearts to send $100, $50, or even $20 to 1-800-buy-dope, he can go on saving the world from cancer.
