OK, there are two athletes running at the moment who are pretty much perfectly adapted, physically, to their event. Bolt (aside from his back) and Rudisha. Rudisha is probbaly the least suspicious athlet competing at the moment. He's just built for that event....in a different way from Coe, for sure, but he has perfect form, balance, alignment, stride, power....everything.

He's the 800m runner you are talking about. Go and learn about him, his genes, his background, the way he trains etc. Then come back on here.

Yes, Cram was a 1500m runner. I used to run against him. He was a physiological freak....no drugs involved. None needed, quite frankly.

He's as outspoken as they come about dopers in athletics...including Brits.

He used to boast of his junk food diet which I guess made him more normal than most. Coe was the dodgy one in my view.

Perhaps both men could contribute a 100 grand each to the IOC in the fight against drugs.

They were running crazy times in the 800 heats at LA. I remember Ovett complaining about the 1' 43's. Those games were nuts.

It was a wave of talent who had excellent training methods. There's plenty to be said about the way British middle distance running went into decline.
I'll sum it up for you....they stopped running as quickly in training.
