Not a good day for Van Wilder. Apparently he got sick on the bike.

Einer Rubio quit. Nonnez as well (i don't know if they DNF or DNS).
And Bagioli lost even more time than Van Wilder.

He was already really good in the Peace race. Very interesting prospect.
He won Tour du Piémont Pyrénéen last week, finished 5 minutes ahead of the 2nd rider over Aubisque.

Overall (especially incl ITT) i rate Van Wilder higher. He's a year younger than Vansevenant, and finished ahead of him in most stageraces they did together this year.

Yeah I know, but Van Wilder is more known. If it wasnt for Evenepoel he wouldve gotten more attention already.
Did he just have a bad day yesterday btw?

Really nice route. I love the stage to Champex-Lac. Col du Lein <3
It is pathetic on TDF's part that the stages on this race are as long as Tour's mountain stage and Champex Lac is designed better than any of the mountain stages in this years Tour.
Yes, it 's a shame the organization has made some amateur mistakes that have compromised the race.

Vansevenant brings it home. Bagioli takes the last stage ahead of Van Gils & Ries, who were leading 13s before the chasing group with Vansevenant, Hailemichael, Van Wilder & Inkelaar.

Inkelaar tried to attack on the final climb, but Vansevenant didn't let him go. I think Vansevenant controled the race perfectly given the circumstances. Inkelaar was allowed to attack only in the second stage since he was too far behind in GC, but the following 3 stages, Vansevanent knew who to target and didn't lose time.

Huge win for him. He crashed 2 years ago, broke two vertebrae, escaped with his life, and was lucky not to be paralized. And now he wins Tour du Piémont Pyrénéen, and Valle d'Aosta.

Alex Molenaar just turned 20 wins a stage of Qinghai Lake solo, seems impresive

On another note, Mark Donovan is coming back from injury which explains his result in Giro Ciclistico della Valle d'Aosta Mont Blanc, interesting to see how the Penrith lad performs in Avenir

Vansevanent was one of the strongest riders, despite the chaos on stage 1 he's a deserving winner.
Inkelaar was also super strong, but Kometa (the strongest team) messed up by not chasing him down on stage 3.
Conca impressed me, another top 10 on gc after his 5th place at the baby giro. The guy is 190cm tall and not exactly a pure climber, he seems to have great recovery and is very constant.

I hope we get a spectacular Avenir. Seriously eager to find out who is gonna start.
The hilly stages are interesting, but the mountain stages look a bit meh.
The competition to get on the Italian team will be pretty though. I guess Covi, Bagioli and Conca will all get a spot, but then you still have Colleoni, Aleotti, the guys from the DD developmental team, Monaco and a few other guys and that's just guys who have a chance to do well on the gc.
